So I was out bashing and I turned my car off(jato 3.3), a few minutes later I tried to start it back up and it barely chugged a couple times and now nothing. Both lights on my wand are lighting up. I took the ez start all the way apart and it works, everything moves right. When I put it back together I get it to turn ov a couple times then nothing. I have taken it apart 3-4 times, and the wand batteries are fully charged and all the wires are connected properly. A while back I had this problem and it was because the two screws holding the ez start motor on came loose and stopped the sprockets from turning. I checked all the screws and everything looks good. How do I know if the ez start motor is going bad or if I need the ez start gear box? Thanks

Ism going to take it apart again and clean the crap out of everything.

i found that the ezstart battery is not that good ....if you make it work to hard , you could burn the brushes in the starter motor ( happened to me ) i use a separate ignitor to start it when cold ...its much easier to start that way ...once its warmed up , i put the blue wire back ...also i try not to hold the starter for more than 5 seconds ....short bursts works good for me ...did you try it with a freshly charged battery ???

also , there is a small metal gear inside the ezstart .....in the center of the assembly ...one of my ezstart wasn't working well ( similar to you ) and i noticed that gear was very hard to spin on its plastic shaft ..i had to grind the inside a bit with my dremel so that it spins freely ...didnt have any problems since

hope that helps a bit

I try always uses short burst too, I took it apart and cleaned it, when I looked at the ez start motor it had some small metal shavings, I cleaned it real good, and when i tried to test it again it was not moving, then i got it moving and it was screetching and moving slow. I bought a new one and it works great so far, but now my throttle servo went out. :( and my clutch went out. I can see why so many people go electric. Yes I have 3 batteries i was using and a wand, and the old ez start box. Freshly charged batteries.
