I'm sure this is a loooong shot, but what the hey - my parents are thinking of getting some juice called Mangosteen which is supposed to have all these health benefits and be so good for you.

Dad had asked that I look into before they bought some and so far I haven't been able to find squat about it other then one site which said it was expensive considering you could just eat more fruits and veggies and get the same result. Anyways what I'm looking for are any bad or ill effects of this stuff, so figured I'd check to see if anyone here has ever heard anything about it!?!

Thanks,

-Michael

It won't hurt at all because it is fruit. For your info, Mangosteen only available once a year mainly in asia. I have ate tons of those and I'm still alive. :D

Also they are charging way tooooo much. $25 per bottle !

I have eaten Mangosteen while I lived in the Philippines attending school. Lots of vitamins and has a natural antioxident in it. Eat too much and it'll give you an "unnatural feeling" and you'll be on the toilet for hours. :)

Too much taco bell will also give you that "unnatural feeling".

I used to eat it too growing up in the Philippines. It used to be my favorite fruit especially when it was refrigerated. It kinda has the mango texture and is very sweet. I would think the juice would taste similar to mango juice. I was not aware of its health benefits.

Hey Diver, are you Flip too? I used to live in Elmhurst when I first moved from the Philippines back in the late 80s.

Man, I saw screw it. Just tell them to drink some wine. Cheaper and you get a buzz. You still get the antioxidents and fruit juice. Combined with a little blood thinner!

You can't beat the benefits of fresh fruits and veggies. Unless you made it fresh with your own juicer, all juices lose something through the processing.

Yes I am Alex, Born in Bacolod, raised here but went back there for college. Been living here in Elmhurst since 1971. MMMMMMMM, Singa's famous pizza! can't live without it.

Thanks for the info guys - most of the stuff I found online was places selling the stuff, but only one place had a review and that said what I already stated above - that it's cheaper to buy veggies and fruits then this stuff.

Either case I'll let them know what I've found on the net and here.

Thanks!

-Michael
