So I got my hands on a emaxx. Which would usually use 2 nimhs. But I want to run lipos. So should I run 2 2s? Or does it even run lipos?

Yes, you can run two 2s LiPo batteries. But the brushed E-Maxx typically runs on two 7-cell NiMH packs, which are 10.5v max each. Whereas a 2s LiPo is 8.4v max. So you will lose a bit of power going from 21v down to 16.8v. Our Stampede runs faster on NiMH than it does 2s, but it won't when I swap the motor to a brushless setup. So I got my hands on a emaxx. awesome thanks. If I were to go brushless what combo are you going with?Yes, you can run two 2s LiPo batteries. Personally I'd go with 8bl150 G2 from hobbywing.awesome thanks. If I were to go brushless what combo are you going with?
Yeah I have a ton of different lipo brands (basically all the same 2S’s with different labels ) just wasn’t sure if the system was capable with liposFor running lipos depends on the esc and motor. And also depending what voltage they can handle.
Battery brands:
Zeee, hoovo, CHNL, SMC. There multiple out there that are good. @Greywolf74 is our battery tester and recommend-er

3906, the old ugly black ones I dont think have lvc. The 3905 with tge Grey chassis, I think the first versions were not and the later ones were lipo cutoff.Yeah I have a ton of different lipo brands (basically all the same 2S’s with different labels ) just wasn’t sure if the system was capable with lipos

Novak used to make a low voltage cutoff. Maybe you can find one or someone else may.
You might want to get chassis and tranny parts. All the other parts are still on the tmaxx and avaliable.
Congrats on the beast. I always wanted the emaxx vtwin.
Ah dang. I’ll probably pickup some nimhs then. Just gonna get it going because we’ve got a few sand pits in the area I think it’ll rip in. Might as well get it going now since I broke my finger and can’t ride for the rest of the monthYour esc does mot appear to be. The one I linked says low voltage detection.

Nice ride. I always wanted that model.
Alright cool. I think I will thenIn my opinion, until you go brushless, you might as well stick with NiMH.
Would this be workable @WickedFog ? The trx esc is 100-120.In my opinion, until you go brushless, you might as well stick with NiMH.
With the brushed motors, I would think it would be ok. Is that, 80A x 2? Only guessing based on the model number.Would this be workable @WickedFog ? The trx esc is 100-120.

So theoretically speaking you can’t do dual brushless right? Thats what my stepdad wanted to do but I told him I don’t think you can. With the brushed motors, I would think it would be ok. Is that, 80A x 2? Only guessing based on the model number.
But if the plan is to eventually swap to a single brushless motor, I think I would just wait to buy a standard ESC/motor combo.
The traxxas vtwin was an emaxx concept with two 1/10 vxl 3s esc and motors. To do it you need to cut or pull the pin on one black esc wire to reciever. Because traxxas got with castle over the embe tells me it wasn't efficient in some way.So theoretically speaking you can’t do dual brushless right? You can, but there is no need to. Unless you are going so fast that wind resistance, gearing, or weight is keeping your motor from reaching its max RPM (in which case the motor would overheat anyway), adding a second brushless motor won't do anything. So theoretically speaking you can’t do dual brushless right? Looks like a fun spot. Never seen a dirtbike with a phone holder.Ah dang. I’ll probably pickup some nimhs then. Just gonna get it going because we’ve got a few sand pits in the area I think it’ll rip in. Might as well get it going now since I broke my finger and can’t ride for the rest of the month

Put that on there so when I explore new places I can have Google maps on lolLooks like a fun spot. Never seen a dirtbike with a phone holder.
Ok thanksYou can, but there is no need to. Unless you are going so fast that wind resistance, gearing, or weight is keeping your motor from reaching its max RPM (in which case the motor would overheat anyway), adding a second brushless motor won't do anything.
So basically, if your gearing is optimal for the motor, adding a second motor won't achieve anything at all.
I'm old school. I track by the sun and landmarks.Put that on there so when I explore new places I can have Google maps on lol
Ok thanks
