Yet another question about this, but, I would like some input on the DumboRC DDF-350 and the Fly sky FS-GT5, as to which would be better in a specific situation. I am looking at setting up a CEN Racing Sicario to plow snow, and with a wrecker boom on the back for various uses, and, I am wondering which transmitter would be better for that. The plow will have up and down, as well as angle left and right, so I need something that with control those functions. As for the boom, it will be operated by a winch set up. I can't find much on the DDF-350, but, I did see a couple videos where the FS GT5 looks like it will control the plow functions, but, I'm not sure if it can be set to control the rear winch. I saw a video where the DDF-350 will control the winch, but I haven't found any way to control the plow, since the DDF-350 only seems to have on-off switches. I ordered the truck and plow today, now I just need to nail down the radio. I have a RadioLink RC4GS, but that is already set up to run all my fast stuff, and, since part of this is using the Sicario to help recover my fast stuff, I don't think it would work for the Sicario.

That's what I noticed in the video I saw about it. What I didn't see is how to control the rear boom winch, unless one of those nobs can be set to do it. Something I noticed, that I can use to raise and lower the plow possibly, is the 3 position switch on the side of the radio. My thinking is, although it's probably wrong, use the 3 position switch (I think it's CH 3) to raise and lower the plow, and one of the dials to angle the plow, and the other possibly to run the winch for recovery. For recovery, I'm thinking attach a somewhat strong mini magnet at the end of the cable, and put thin metal strips in the chassis of my fast trucks, and just lower the winch until the magnet catches. Mostly I'm thinking for when the trucks flip, although I did consider using it for recovery when the battery hits LVC. I'm just not sure how well towing from the body would work.

You would use that with channel 3, which is the toggle switch on the handle of the GT5. You could do channel mixing to tie two channels together too.

Ill second the FSGT5. Great transmitter for the money. The Dumbo stuff seems kind of toy grade. I have 2 of the GT5's and they've been great.
Although I do agree that the DumboRC stuff might seem toy grade, after owning an X6 long term, they are actually pretty decent. I've seen a few videos on the DDF-350, and people seem to like them. To muddy the waters even more, on another forum, someone mentioned the HotRC/Meus clones. I'm not a fan of the Meus though, because of the design, but, the HotRC 6A might be another one to consider. I am leaning towards the FS GT5. I have to admit, after owning both the FS GT3B and FS GT3C long term, I am a fan of those radios, and the super cheap receiver price is a plus. I have spent the last few days going through different manuals, just trying to learn what each radio will do, and in some ways I'm even more lost. I have never done more than possibly use a 3RD channel for lights, so figuring out how to control multiple servo's is all new to me.

The only issue I see with that winch controller, it's not waterproof, and, with what I'm setting this truck up for, everything needs to be waterproof, so I'll have to see if I can find one that is.

You can waterproof components yourself with a spray on/brush on chemical sealant. I forget what its called but several guys here have done it.
I have done that before with liquid tape, but it's a pain and stinks, so, I would rather just get a box and put the controller in.

One thing I just realized is, that controller is set up with a red and white plug for a winch, whereas the boom setup i am using uses a standard 360 degree servo instead of an actual winch, so how would I make that work with that controller? This is the setup I am gonna be using: https://a.co/d/1aF3prE and this is the plow I'm using: https://ebay.us/m/185rVr
