Looking for DTX 18 engine or parts. Mainly the piston as the picture will show. Or what can I replace it with? Out of a 15 or so yr old DuraTrax nitro Evader.

Nice Evader you got there. I'm doing a restoration on a Duratrax maximum mt. Parts are very hard to come by. There's a few shops that deal with older vintage RC. I found lots of parts on Ebay. Have you tried there yet?
Have you searched for the parts for the TORQ .18 nitro engine?? There's a couple of hobby shops that come up. You just got to weed threw them. And find what your looking for bud.. I found the sleve and piston for the TORQ .16.. So I'm sure you can find the .18 out there

Saw a used DTX18 a bit cheaper... says it has good compression and the seller has more than 1 feedback, so might not be lying:

You might just want to get a different engine. Pull start, side exhaust, rotary carb. There used to be quite a few that would work for around $100... harder to come by these days though.

This is about the only one that comes to mind that isn't a really cheap Chinese unit you can find on ebay:

It's traxxas... so will probably be around for another 20 years for parts and whatnot.

I am rebuilding a DTX.15 now. I ha e 2 of them. Did a lot of research on how to repinch sleeves. So far going good. Havent yet fired it up. I do have compression now. Working on building a motor stand so I wont need to tear a truck apart to test.

Do you know if the .15 connecting rod works for the .18? Most motor do have an interchange between sizes like that.

It's 3.7 mm for the wrist pin and the length is 31 mm

I just ordered one from a vendor he had one lost in the shelves that he hasn't sold in a long long time so if that doesn't work I got to figure something out but if yours is that size I'll buy it off of you

I tried a connecting rod for my old cen nt-16 but the diameter of the wrist pin is 3.5 mm

I have a lot of parts for the Evader and for the 18dtx engine. I have found that the price of parts on eBay is just crazy. Like the spur gear I've seen them go for $50 I have found nothing axle rock climber 56 tooth is a perfect fit

Just check ebay every single day and you will find a set. Last set i saw was just a few weeks ago. I have a bunch of sets but I'm a collector not a seller.

Thx I am looking every day love my dtx .18 I have wore it out was my frist mod engine want to rebuild it. all I need is the sleeve and piston to finish it
