You will learn a lot by fixing up your old trucks. There are lots of parts avail for Traxxas.
Prob a good place to start.
Used RCs can be tricky. Buyer NEEDS to know what they are looking for/at.
Each one that I've purchased has been (or will be) completely rebuilt by me. I don't mind the work and the finished products never disappoint.
I think I enjoy building RCs as much as I enjoy driving them.
I like knowing that I can tear down and rebuild my RCs. I like knowing how they work so I can easily make adjustments and repairs.
I will recommend jennysrc.com as a parts supplier for you.
They sell new take-off parts at low prices. They are a great shop to deal with. Ted is very helpful, knows his inventory and is fast to respond.
One of my most favorite shops!
I think you should pick one truck, which ever one you like best, and find a place to start disassembling things.
Maybe d/l the manual and go in reverse so you will have some pics and understand how it all comes apart.
Read the manual for tips about reassembly too. Like what lube and where to put it or if screws require locktite...
You might want to post a build thread for your project. You can post pics of your progress and ask questions about the parts that are challenging you.
I didn't see any pics of the hex you are working on. (I know the part tho I think)
