Before i quit drinking (the 18 will mark 21 months)
I bought this bottle of absinthe gold online.the only place you can get this stuff the real deal is from the UK..340$a bottle..

Two shots even for a hard core drinker witch i was.would put you in a place you have never been....This is right true!

its so strong 180 prof but the kicker is the wormwood in it that makes it what it is..

i drank it by putting a sugar cube on a slotted spoon and pour a shot over it.then light the cube on fire and dunk it in to the shot..And fire it down...

Oh god, the wormwood poop is bad news. I know we were prohibited from drinking anything with it in it when I was stationed in England several years ago. Never tried it but we were warned.

Also banned in the states. In my opinion the crap tastes like motor oil, it's just straight nasty as heck.

One small piece of history, absinthe is also the same drink Vincent van Gogh was drinking at the time he cut his ear off.

very true it is illegal in the states thats why you have to order it from the UK.its not illegal for them to ship it from there.
they pack it very well.and they were offering a money back iff it got confiscated.

Zandor congrats on your sobriety. I think if I would've drank that stuff I would have done something stupid. Is that the stuff that could also make you go blind or is that moonshine?

That's moonshine, it's the methanol in it that does the damage. You get drunk just like you would drinking ethanol, but you'll go blind and/or die. Not something to be taken lightly.

Think you're confusing that with the "bathtub gin" they used to make during prohibition here. I've seen they would add all kinds of crap to that. Well maybe to shine too. I've seen shows on it where they would run the shine through an old radiator. Never made any (yet), but it looks like it would be much simpler to make a worm. I've heard of heavy metal poisoning with it. Using lead solder on the joints for the still.
I've made beer several times. Was just one of those kits. Never made any shine, but it is on my "to do" list.

Congrats on the sobriety my friend. I'm not sure I could do it. Not much on the hard stuff, but I love my beer and drink more than I should.
