WTF?? I just bought a new outdrive for my front diff, coz the last one chipped and the dogbone fell out. Two tanks later the same thing happened to my NEW outdrive. Obviously I have something out of adjustment. I have a Hyper 7 PBS, and the only thing I can think of would be to give the hex-heads that adjust my camber a couple turns in equally, to shorten the distance between the wheel and the diff...Any suggestions??

Just a thought...

Check the UJ/CVD on the driveshaft. If it is binding or locking up at full steering lock and/or full suspension travel then the outdrive might break as it tries to turn the locked driveshaft.

That was going to be my suggestion... Also, do you have a dog-bone or cvd? I think most front axles on buggies are cvds.

They are cvd's I guess in order for it to be called a dogbone it has to have points on either end, not just one... I am going to try the full-turn test, and if there is no problem there, I will turn all pivotball screws in a bit...thanks all

ON EDIT: Hey, I checked OFNA's website, and it says the PBS has CVD/Uni for the front...how can you have both??? And what is the difference?

Hey Bro, That is exactly what I had to do on my PBS, on the left front, the dog bone would try to slip just beyond the outdrive socket and hang the drive and steering, luckily mine didn't chip though. I just brought the wheel assembly in a couple of turns on each pivot ball mount. No more probs.

Yup - same thing happened to me. You need to bring in the wheel assemblies on each pivot ball. My chipped just like yours. Just get a new one, bring in the wheels and poof! no more problems.

Jeep - Funny, my left one did exactly the same thing...

if you're still using the stock dogbones try putting an old Shock o-ring in the seat of each cup....it stops the chattering and centers the shaft better...also keeps the dog bones from grinding the posts on the outdrive edges.....a slim slice of fuel tube works as well......

another fuel line tip is, slice up a bunch of old fuel line anyway for the ends of your current fuel lines instead of using zip ties (they can cut your fuel line) .....I slip a needle nose through the small slices and then feed my fuel tube through it and slide the smaller tube over the nipple and it secures your fuel line real good

I think I'm following you on the fuel line tip, but I'm not sure, could you be a little more specific?

Thanks

I'll post a pic tonight.....it's REAL easy and every one I showed it to does it now....saves you from using up all your air filter zips on fuel lines....

You can kind of see the fuel line here on my revo's exhaust:

I see now,,,but I never guessed the fuel line would expand that much without splitting, but, I'm still thinking "1:1 world", lol.,,,cool idea, Thanks!

Had some extra fuel line, cutters, and small needle nose pliers at the house tonight, so I did what you said, and damn!,,it does hold tight!!!!
I used a lil aro to get the inner line through the outer and it worked excellently!

Very nice tip!

Jeep

well that pic is better than mine so no need to post...thanks olds....
jeep i just stick the lil slice of tube on the end of needle nose pliersand open up...the tube stretches ALOT..and you can just feed the rest of your fuel tube through there...put the tube on the connector and push it over the ends til it's snug.....
