I'm doing a body for my Nitro race car and I'm using water based FasTint to tint the side and rear windows. I'm sealing off my water based paint with Parma Fuel sealer and I'm not sure if I should use it on the window tint.

Can I use it on the window tint or will the sealer discolor the tint?

I agree with Rolex, paint, seal, then remove the masks and then tint the windows. Only thing is I would use spaz stix wintow tint rather than parma. It is by far the best window tint out there. The pactra rattle can tint is terrible! I still have two cans of that crap sitting here I will NEVER use! But I highly recommend the spaz tint.

I tested out FasTint on scrap lexan and it turned out to be a lot darker than I expected. After seeing that I tinted the windows and sealed the entire thing. The windows are very dark, you cannot see inside the vehicle. The windows look good but they are darker than I expected. They are basically somewhere in between gray and black.

NCNitro - You were right about the blue painter's tape. It worked great on the Savage body I am working on.

My new Savage body has a long way to go. I'll post pics of my new TC body tomorrow.

Faskolors window tint is horrible too. At least for me. It tends to bead up for me.. I hate Faskolor paint though anyway. Never had good luck with that crap.

I did not have any trouble with it. Here is a pic of it on the sides and rear.

Wait till you try spaz stix tint. It blows away any other tint I have tried.

I agree. That's the one I've had the best success with, but I should have practiced a little more.
What's your secret, NC? Thinned with DA and multiple light coats? I got an even tint, but somewhat textured. Maybe my coats were too light and it dried before it could settle flat.

I get the same thing. It looks good from a distance but up close it has that textured look. I'm kinda a perfectionist when it comes to painting, so it drives me nuts..lol.. I'm gonna have to try the stuff ya guys recommend.

Is it translucent? I do have to say I am satisfied with the texture of FasTint but I'd prefer a translucent tint.
