Hello,

I have a Protek 2200 mah high voltage lipo that says 7.6 volts on it. My lipo charger is not a special high voltage charger, so when I select lipo 2S the voltage displayed is 7.4v. Do I need to get another charger or is there a way to make this work with a regular charger?

Also, are there any recommended high voltage lipo chargers?

7.6v is a 2s LiHV. Does your charger have a LiHV balance mode? If so you can charge it on that. LiHV 2s Balance charge at 2.2A (for 1C)
Its alright to charge a LiHV on regular LiPo mode. But never ever ever charge a regular LiPo on LiHV mode.

Also, are there any recommended high voltage lipo chargers?
My personal charger, Skyrc T200. Had it for 2 years now and serves me well. Looking into a new charger myself. Which I plan to be either a hota d6 pro or gensacearespammers d300.

Thank you! If I charge the LiHV with the regular lipo charger, it won't fully charge it correct? Is there a way around this?

I have an Imars DX8 but haven't had the time to set it up in my charger case yet so I'm stuck using my regular charger for now.

Yes, it wont fully charge. So on regular lipo charge it will fully charge to 4.2v/cell. While a regular LiHV charge will charge it up to the max which is 4.35v/cell. Total voltage would be 8.7v instead of 8.4v. Don't think there is anyway around that unless you charge on Lihv mode if you want max / full charge.

Me personally most of the time I charge my 7.6v race packs on lihv mode for practice but if I am racing I charge on regular lipo mode because of ROAR rules for spec racing.

Which charger do you currently use?

Some chargers will allow you to change the end voltage in the charge cycle screen, and some will allow you to do so in the charger's system settings. But this is very dangerous if you forget to change these back.

If there's a LiPo setting on your current charger, then it most likely will have a LiHV setting, which is what you need to charge that properly. If the current charger doesn't the IMARS should.

OT. Why does any references on this form to Gens-Ace turn into “gensacearespammers”? @WoodiE
