Well, here we are.

Today is the last day to go over everything and make sure I am gtg.

It's crazy to look back at the beginning and see where I am now!

When it comes to filming or live streaming I am really leaning towards filming and editing everything.

I don't really have a schedule for the day to share what classes are running at what time.

My expectations are low as far as my performance goes, the competition is STIFF and I want to keep myself in check.

That was my biggest hurdle this season; keeping emotions in check, keeping pace in check, BREATH!

I suppose next will be the summer season; outdoor competitions!

It'll be easier for filming and commentary. They blast copyrighted music in the Mile High Crawl Center all the time so it's hard to do any audio recording.

Part 1 - Course Layout and 1/10th Sportsman
It went well until 6:30 ughhh

Second place with the Apex boys! And I won a fifty dollar GC door prize!

No Coyote, no SCX30, or 24. But that's cool, I had a blast, didn't break anything and I covered the whole cost of my day! That's a huge win in my books!

Here's that 2nd place run. See if you can spot the gate touch.

After I ran in Sportsman, it took them another two-three hours to clear the field.
That part of the course also interfered with the 1/18th stuff so we were stuck there for a while (unless you ran 1/24 or 1/30).

It gave me a chance to warm up (it was 60f in the barn), edit some video and post my first run before heading back in where I waited probably another hour for 1/18th.

I was glad to have such a long break though, because I knew Sportsman didn't go well.
I was able to review the footage and gain a few pointers for the later run in Unlimited (it was much cleaner through the same part of the course).

So trying to clear my mind and be fresh for the next runs paid off.

I'll post my final run on Monday

This is the last indoor one for the winter season. The Mile High Center is closed until next winter.

The crew of Manitoba RC Comp Crawlers & ProNoobRC will be hosting the summer outdoor season soon. Things are so wet around here, I couldn't imagine them starting until probably June. One of the guys at the comp lives in the quarry area and said it's a swamp right now.

I am super looking forward to getting outside though.

The Apex18 is such a beast! I am beyond impressed with that rig. Still running the kit tires, just different foams. I soaked the tires in 50/50 Simple Green a few times and they're really good!!

I am interested in trying JConcepts Ruptures in a 1.3" as they work so well on my Stance. Curious if there performance transitions down and surpasses the Redcat tires.

I tried Cling On's from Injora but I didn't find they had the performance I was after and went back to the OEM tires.

That was a tough course for Sportsman. Great driving dude. Gave me the comp itch for sure!

That Sportsman course was tough! I mean, Unlimited shared half of it sooo

I personally only ran in Unlimited for extra run time and if someone with a Cheater rig had a bobble maybe you find yourself in the mix. I didn't expect it to go anywhere.

There was a younger couple at my table who said they won't run 1/10th just based on how hard they make it. I completely understand, I definitely felt deflated after that Sportsman run and from what they had said their 1/10th stuff wasn't as capable as the Stance.

I felt bad for anyone running Traxxas anything, TRX4 or TRX4M's would or did have a tough time from what I watched. I deleted a bunch of TRX4-M footage just because I felt bad for the few people who's runs I stood and filmed. You could tell a few of them were frustrated. I didn't even bother bringing my decked out TRX4-M. There's no point when the Apex just mops the floor with it.

I did try to make sure people didn't see me filming when I did as to not apply added pressure.
There was another guy filming with a full body camera who at times was basically touching the trucks for the perfect shots and I thought, I don't think I could handle that.

So there it is, the final one for the indoor season.
Looks like I'll probably have a month off before I see what's up for the summer.

Time to do some maintenance on the Stance. I need to rebuild the shocks and run a heavier oil, I found that out right away at the Comp.
I also might look into a different body, but I got a few other projects in the way first for other rigs that need attention

Last comp we went head to head at the finish in 1/18th. It came down to us again. I'll get him one of these times. I know I have him worried anyway because he sneakily watches my runs over my shoulder or slightly behind me where I cannot see him.

We've had people traveling from other provinces for our events, I hope that streak continues!

I'll also be setting up the Napoleon Travel Q for grilling to help out my buddy and keeping an eye out for anyone else running the event who may need a hand.

My hopes are high that we win something!!
I think I have my truck tally up to 6-7

I don't know exactly all the categories they'll have for the show and shine but they said all the ones we run at the comps. Sooo

- Project Nostalgia for 1/18 Stock
- Apex18 for 1/18th Unlimited
- Project Ol Ranch Hand for retro if they have it or 1/10 Sportsman Straight Axle
- My other Ascender in the same class (classes?)
- Optic for Optic Class lol (if there are enough)
If not then probably Unlimited.
- Prodigy RC in Unlimited

I'm also bringing Project Maroon if they have a 1/30th class (doubtful - outdoor event)

I am really looking forward to driving the black Ascender now that I have an external BEC wired in and a fresh wheel/tire combo ready to roll.

The Optic too, I am super looking forward to driving it as I have very limited wheel time on it.

I too would enjoy a trip to RC in a different region.

I went to BC a few years ago (2024) and it was b e a utifil! We landed in Vancouver, stayed along the water and then took a ferry to Victoria where we stayed a few days. Did some whale watching and just had an amazing time in general. The water taxis were so..umm..cute? Fun..let's go with fun.

It rained almost the entire trip but that felt very on brand for what I was picturing.

BC tangent - I remember back in the day there would be an RC TV show on cable television. They would feature different LHS's across the country and their local scene; every race or event they showed the BC scene, it was muddy and in the rain. To be totally fair we featured a lot of winter segments LOL
