Considering two options, any opinions, for beginner's smaller crawler?

I am currently weighing two possible introduction RC Crawlers. Looking at sub-$200ish, considering the ECX Temper Gen 2 or the ECX Barrage Gen2. Any opinions or alternate suggestions in that price range?

Do those have the motor in the axles or a transfer diff?

Some have the motors on the axle ,so it depends on what you want in that respect ,but you may have to pay
a little more ,however ,if you have to pay a little more ,it maybe just as well to get a name brand!

I see this ,but the motor is on the axle ,it has two ,center of gravity maybe better ,it is also big for the money!

You also have the Redcat Everest for around $150 which is a great 'starter crawler from what I understand. Also comes with a nimh battery and slow charger if you don't have anything to start out with.
