Considering a 1/10 scale crawler

Out of the box the Coyote is a very capable rig. Period. I have 10 crawlers in different mods but the most capable out of the box is the COYOTE. really thinking about getting a second coyote so I can have one that is modded and one stock.

You aren't kidding!

The comp I was at on the weekend, in Sportsman someone ran a bone stock Coyote and was able to complete the course relatively clean.

The new truck doesn't nearly have the value of the coyote imo due to licensed body, it will also have alot more sprung weight due to the cage i imagine
It makes up for it with a higher price and a dig... Vanquish is still the pro buy. Or get a deal on a coyote or basecamp if they go on sale. If you like to bash. Just go ahead and get the High Trail you like. The new Toyota body is kind of ugly.

I like the new one
Not sure if the extra $ is worth it or not
But it is probably a deal breaker with the wife
$400 is going to be a hard sell already

Just tell her it's an early Christmas present, by the time Christmas rolls around she won't even remember. 🤣

Ahhh simple. Lie. Duh.
Single income family. I do ok, all the bills are paid, food on the table, that sort of thing. $20 to $30 here and there is no big deal, but $400 at once is a different animal

LOL she's not a big fan of that kind of stuff. She likes to choose gifts. She's a giver She knocked it out of the park this past Christmas with the 3D printer, I had no idea

We got our tax return already

Car goes in for inspection next week, and we need some new furniture.

We'll see how much is left after that.

Why does real life have to be so expensive?

@Tallbump
I think I have a stock Element Enduro chassis with some STRC bits on it, I would be happy to send you what I got if you wanted to build something. Heck, I will cover shipping too 😉 I can take a pic if you like of what I got, probably a few extra bits in the mix as well. Not saying it would be much cheaper to get it together than new, unless others on here have some extra bits to chip in or sell cheap??

I could probably scrounge up something to donate if it were to go that route. I gave a bunch of my Element stuff away when I sold the truck, but I could have a second go through everything.

Ok Tallbump, here is what I could find in my stash:
Element Enduro chassis with Samix aluminum shock towers, both battery trays- shorty and a longy-, brand new JConcepts Raptor body, Arrma servo, Proline dual stage foams, new body posts and clips, and a couple battery straps. Yours if you want it 😃👍

I don't know anything about the Enduro, but I am always up for a project.

Especially becuase where I live it' won't be nice outside for a few more months.

Anyone have a good resource for info on these? Is there a good YouTube? Best place for parts? Is there good info on here about them?

Most of my knowledge is on Axial 1/24 and 1/30

I am sure I could figure it out with guidance

Element is made by Team Associated, who has a fantastic history of competition level race cars/trucks/buggies. They may have gotten a bit caught up in "marketing" lately, but none the less, a great company. Yes, there are several models of trail trucks and crawlers, I have two of them that I built in kit form, the Enduro and the Gatekeeper. A lot of my Enduro is modified, but I still retain the axles, transmission, and shocks. I swapped out the chassis for a carbon GSpeed, and I can keep up with most of the super high end boys in class 2. My only hinderance with it is on some steep steep climbs, but I have a trick up my sleeve to remedy that ;)

Several guys on here have an Element rigs, and I am sure will chime in. Axial has been doing ready to run crawlers probably longer than most companies, and because of that have one of the best aftermarket parts selection, but that does not make them the best. A lot of great rigs out there, but I got both of my Elements for a reason, and have not been disappointed in the least.

Looks like you have already been on their website?

Another thing to keep in mind, is that a ton of parts are interchangeable. For instance axles, you dont have to use Element axles with an Element chassis, or Axial, Redcat, Vanquish, etc. A lot of options out their to really make it your own. And there will be a LOT of help on this here forum for you to guide you throught the proccess. Oh, and there will be as many opinions as there are cool parts 🤣
