computer help needed FAST

Hey computer wizards, need help fast! My bosses laptop is booting into a blue screen that says "unmountable_boot_volume". We've tried to unplug everything to no avail. I've looked around in the bios, tried to boot in safe mode and also boot in debugging mode. Nothing is working. Any ideas from anyone would be appreciated. Our IT department treats us liike the bastard step child to start and now they are in the process of moving the company headquarters so we rank even lower than pond scum now!

My bet is to try running check disk as it says in the link above. If that doesn't work another reason you may get that error is because of a failing hard drive.

Thanks Woodie! I did find a couple things where others have had the same problem. He doesn't have his disk with him so he'll either do it tonight or I'll mess with it tomorrow. Looks good as far as recovery from what I have found so far. Or at least we hope.

Just a note..... even if you are able to recover the info... I would invest in a new drive, and a decent backup solution as well. In recovery console you can also try to fix the master boot record by typing Fixmbr, and fixboot. I have found those to be of some use in times like these. Good luck.

Thanks Tom, he's bringing in the disk tomorrow and we'll mess with it after our early departure leaves. We're both about due for new laptops anyway so he's hoping to get this one back up for a short time and get new soon.
