Okay well on my savage it had a 52 tooth steel spur gear and I was running on a 14 tooth clutch bell. The thing was fast and pulled wheelies no problem. Well after the spur ate the clutch bell I had a guy I know pick me up a new spur and bell and the gearing is now 12/49 what am I going to expect with that gearing??

On a completely different note.

I have a locked differential for my savage and I just have it sitting around in my desk and my friend told me to stick in in th front. What would happen if i did. Would would i expect with turning and pulling?? Have any of you ever done something like that? And what are the advantages/disadvantages??

I would suspect the gearing isn't going to be a huge difference, however, you might notice a change.

As for the locked diff in the front; your turning will go from "brick on wheels", to "full speed straight ahead captian!"

if you lock the front diff,it will climb some hella hills!, I had a .21maxx with a locked front diff,it would climb anything.with the rear locked it would just flip over backwards.but as mentioned with the front locked,it dont like to turn on hard surfaces.

The clutch/spur combos work similar to changing gears in the rear of a hot rod car. Your 52/14 is a drive ratio of 3.71:1, the 49/12 is 4.08:1. that translates to more low end and a little loss of top speed.

If you try it, let me know what you think of that combo.

the motor is as far over as possible. they just barely fit but they do.
