hi, I'm jusst wondering what happens if i charge my 7,2 1800nimh batteries with an 9,6v charger? will the batteries be destroyed? can i charge them with an 4,5v charger? or an regular 7,2v nicad charger?
Well I'm not sure. I know when my peak charger charges 7.2 volt packs its almost at 9.2 volts according to the screen. To be safe Id get a peak charger and be done.. Oh and happy birthday.. There ya go ask for a peak charger for your b-day !!
It all depends on what the charge rate for your charger is. With 1800 mAh NiMH's, you can probably handle about 3.5A for a charge current. But you'll need to monitor the battery voltage to make sure it doesn't overcharge.
So, that being said, I agree with the above advice. If you're in the hobby for a while, get yourself a decent peak-detection charger. It makes charging a ton simpler.
And Happy Birthday.
okey thank you! on the package it says 200mA for 4,8v and 9,6v? I'm getting lipo soon so i jusst want to be able to drive it until then, what do you think?
