Ok I'm 99% done now! Still need to do some tuning to get it to sound better.

I am having 1 issue.
Noise of course.....
I have 1 possible 2 noises going on. The first is a constant low mid noise that is constant when the engine is running. It does NOT change when the engine is revved up. It is there even when the radio head and amps are off. Its not loud but its there.

2nd noise is a high wine that changes with the RPM and is NOT present when the engine is off.

So far I have:
Made sure that all equipment is properly grounded. I have not yet added a second ground from the battery to the chassis.

Made sure all the speaker and signal wires are separated and insulated.

Made sure all positive and negative connections are proper.

What are my next steps?

I'm almost done now. Just need to make a few adjustments.

Due to the size of the amps I had no other choice but to mount them to the underside of the rear lid. I ran them for an hour at about 75% He-He and they were only slightly warm.

10" JL sub in a sealed box.
It fits nicely and can be slid back if needed so I can use the full back if needed.

You can see the bolts I used to hold the amps in. I have a cargo mat so they will never bee seen.

The ground and power fuses are mounted in the rear under the deck on the drivers side. I also have a fuse in the engine compartment.

The only non stealth part of the install other then the sub is tweeters in the rear doors. I wanted to get coaxial but the price was right for these so I used them. The shadows and flash makes it look like there is scratches and weird coloring on the door. I had to go out and look after I saw this pick. My heart was pounding thinking I messed up my doors somehow.

The front tweeters mounted as a direct fit into the stock Bose mounts. I did need to remove some plastic under the dash so the wire connectors to the tweeters had a little more room.

I shopped a lot of sales and got the amps used from a friend.

RF 800w 4 Chanel
JBL 600w 1 channel
JL 10" Sub
MB Quart 6.5 Component Front
MB Quart 6.5 Component Rear
PAC OEM1
PAC-AAI NIS
4 Gage Power Wire
8 Gage Ground
12 Gage Monster Speaker Wire
Lots of odds and ends.
Total cost $735.00

IT looks good, very clean install. One thing though, I have always been told to use the same gage ground wire as power wire.

The power to the fuse box is 4 gage. It splits into (2) 8 gage fused. One to each amp.

Did you run your RCA wires on opposite sides of the car than your power and remote wires?

Yes, The power is on the drivers side and the signal wires are on the other.

I was able to isolate the lower constant noise. Its coming from the PAC OEM1. Thats the unit that converts the signal from the head to a usable signal for the amps. As I move it around, the noise changes and at times goes away. I'm going to contact the manufacturer and see if its defective or if there is a way to shield it.

The altranator noise is faint but still there. I guess there is a filter I can get. I'm going to ground the battery better first to see if it helps.

what's your alternator rated for,you might need to upgrade it pulling that much watt's but i doubt it.

also, mounting your sub in a corner with give you better bass re enforcment, but don't mount it on the hatch, cause then you will loose a bit, keep it in a tight place.tighter the better.

Ed did you use existing bolts for grounds or did you make new ones? Every time I had tried using an existing bolt I would get alternator wine, so if you used existing bolts try makeing new holes and sand the contact point. Then seal it all up.

^ this is so true, also make sure you didn't screw the amp down on metel. Fosgate amps are know to make noise when there chassie are grounded, I would send the pac back and exchange it. Are there any ground wires comeing from the pac unit?
