So I have been a nitro guy forever. But I am finding fun with my son with electrics due to the regulations at the nearby park. I picked up a Traxxas Bandit for him and a 2X4 Slash for me. I decided to upgrade to brushless. I ordered a WP-10BL60 3800KV motor and ESC. Now I can't bind my radio and receiver. I can bind with the stock ESC installed but not with the new one. Why would this be? I have tried everything and even programmed the ESC but I can't bind to my receiver.

Please help. . .here is the ESC.

Does your receiver require a bind plug installed inorder to bind?

When you try to bind to the new setup, is the steering servo working?

Once youve bound the transmitter to the receiver its bound to that receiver. You can swap ESCs all day long and it shouldnt have any affect on the TX/RX.

Unless you're talking about claibrating the ESC with your TX. If thats the case it may just simply be that you are trying to get the ESC in to calibration mode the way you would with the original ESC but the process of calibrating ESC is different for each ESC. The ESCs manual should have directions on how to get it in to calibration mode.

This goes along with my 2nd question. So, if the steering is working, then it's just the ESC that needs to be calibrated to the transmitter.

does the receiver light come on?.if no light then esc bec is bad..contact marker of esc and have them send you a new 1..

Okay, here is where I am at. Everything is Traxxas except the new motor and ESC. I plugged in the stock ESC and the Tx and Rx are bound. All green lights, I can also hear and control the steer servo. So the radio and receiver are paired. I unplug everything and hook up the new ESC. When I turn it on instead of having a green light on the receiver, it looks like both red and green are on, but mostly red. The ESC is blinking rapidly. The instructions say I need to set the end points for throttle. I go through the procedure but I can't adjust anything because the Tx and Rx are not talking to each other. I have a programming card for the ESC and all the values are for motor control, nothing to do with the receiver. . .I am stumped on this one!

Thanks

Sounds to me like you need to calibrate your radios throttle, reverse, and neutral positions on the ESC. Have you looked up the calibration procedures for your new ESC?

Sounds like you need to calibrate your esc to the tx.
I think this is the way you calibrate:
Turn on tx.
Hold down the power button on the esc until you hear a beep.
Give full throttle, hold down trigger, and hit power button on esc once. You should hear 2 beeps.
Not being trigger to full reverse, hold it down and press esc power button once. You should hear 3 beeps.
Power off esc.
You should be good to go, when you turn it back on.

I got it to work but strange how it happened. . .I was going to try and bind the Tx with another 2.4 receiver I have. It didn't work. But I didn't shut down the car when I unplugged the Rx and plugged the stock one in. . .Then all of a sudden I got all green lights! Everything is paired.

Now I have another problem. . .The car is far too powerful now!

Nae danger, I can program the ESC. . .

Thanks for all the help and tips!
