Rather than buying a kit I am looking to build my own R/C car, I figure it will be more personalised that way and more fun!

I believe using circuit board is good for a base.

Any ideas or tips would be GREATLY appreciated.

Cheers Peoples!!!

Sounds like your trying to make a radio shack car, I would find whatever real RC parts you can and get some real electronics and go from there.

That's the beauty of building your own car in your own way, you make what ever you want to fit. And this is the challenge as well.

These are the things I am looking for too, I need advice on all these things, what you guys out there think will work best?

Cheers

I was looking to do this same thing for my rally car. When I dug into the cost of just the main parts; axles, drive shafts, steering arms, etc. It was a lot more costly than a kit, albeit I don't have many spare parts lying around, so I would be buying all parts separately, just didn't work out for me.

It sounds like tons of fun to do! Post pics as you start gathering stuff. :)
