Skyrc B6 Neo Plus with a Dell 130W USB C Laptop charger should be alright for someone right?
He has a 50 dollar budget and wants something small and portable. For a buddy of mine

It only has a 600mAh balance current. What size batteries is he looking to charge? Because it's going to take forever to balance his batteries. Now, tevhnically, he could do without the balance charge and just let the charger stop when the first cell hits 4.2v. But I wouldn't do that more thsn once in an outing. It will be harder on the weaker cells I would think, and they could go farther out of balance the more cycles you run like that without a balance charge in there.

And I don't think that psu is going to be good enough to charge a bigger lipo. Is it a power bank? If so, how many mAh is the batter in it? It doesn't look big enough to charge anything more that small 1000mAh or so 2s batteries.

I was also recommending Hota T6 which is 300w on DC but only 90w USB c.
Ideally there's really nothing else out there that's good for 50 bucks. Unless it's cheap Amazon ones like the recalled HTRC clones or cheap IMAXb6 clones which most are little tiny 50w single channel 6a thing and not much better than his spektrum 50w charger he has now.

That power supply will not work for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that, as far as I can tell, that power supply does not support the PD 3.1 specification that the SkyRC charger uses. Additionally, it says in the description that you have to have a PD 3.1 compliant power supply at a minimum of 140W. So the second issue is, you're a little light on the wattage. If it were me, I would try to find one that is 150W.

I believe that 50$ will buy almost any modern charger, used ones for sure, and they'll charge what ever batteries you have.

True but for 50 bucks you either get a old outdated IMAX b6 with low wattage. Or a knockoff Amazon dual charger that can potentially catch fire. The good name brand with good specs are atleast 100 bucks plus. Found a used skyrc t200 on the eBays for 75 bucks. Sent it to him.

After looking at the manual, there is internal resistance reading of cells if that matters. At least none that I can tell. That sucks. I think internal resistance reading is one of "must haves" any new charger should include. Oh, well.

I have a neo b6 that I use when I take my 1/10 rigs out, for a spot of field charging
Run it from a cheap 6s lipo.

No issues charging up to 3s 5000mah batteries

Haven’t tried running it on usb yet though

This thread has made me realize I am severely out of touch when it comes to modern chargers. It also makes me hope I don't need to buy one any time soon! I've been rocking 2 Spektrum chargers for the past couple years. I picked them up when I returned to the hobby after a several year hiatus and just haven't required anything more than they provide.

If you told me 10-15 years ago that one day we would be able to field charge with a charger the size of a pack of gum being powered by a 6S lipo....

Dynamite DYNC2030 Prophet Sport Mini 50W. I have had this charger for over 5 years and still works strong. Even though they are discontinued you can find them from $15-$30 all day on eBay.

Could but it's literally the same wattage and amp rate as the current spektrum he has now and it's not much better, most likely the same in features. Can't read individual cell voltage, IRs, ect. And that's what he needs imo, especially a charger with a good balance/charge option. As many batteries can fail from being unbalanced by a poor quality charger. He had to retire a newer CNHL 4s for being unbalanced. When we did a track day together I tried balancing it out on my skyrc t200 and it tried its best on getting it back to normal again.

And to add to it you can also house them in a small peli type case to take them with you when you go bash..

Ended up going with a Hota T6 for now. Will possibly go with a power supply later but I mostly wanted the features and not charging power. Later will upgrade to a better two port charger and keep the T6 for on-the-go.
