bought used tmaxx need help

hi i bought a used tmaxx and none of the raido is hooked up i looked up manual on the net and figured out where to plug batt , steering servo, but i did not get a optidrive what is that any way and do i need one ?
also need help on connecting the switch wires.

I think 'opti-drive' is Traxxas-talk for their Rx.... (I'm not 100% sure of that, but I haven't seen anything to the contrary either)...

The optidrive is a module that Traxxas uses to prevent the transmission from shifting from forward to reverse on the Revos. It is usually considered to be a waste and is quickly removed by most Revo owners.

i do have a tmaxx

i have a tq3 tx and a 2215 rx so do i not need this opti drive ? and if not can i just wire my shiift servo in to chanel 4 on the rx?
