I know it's not a great set up but I figured for $20.00 it would be good enough to play and if this is something I might stick with.

Give it a go matey, what have you got to lose.I myself, paint cars for a living, and the pro in me would have puchased a Iwata gun,but give that one a go-when you master the technique with trial & error-go the bigger dawg.Mate it was a bargain by the sounds of it....

Dont tread on me(say in james hetfield style)

gravity feed, internal mix, trigger style, sure why not. You prolly are not going to get a VERY fine line and it may not be adjustable, but any type of paintbrush is better than a rattlecan in my opinion.

I agree on the Iwata. They are some awesome airbrushes.

Whiler were on the subject of air brushes what might be a good starting breand, would any of the ones at tower be ok starters?

I personally like paasche they flow really smooth and are very versitile not to mention they run at a decent price...i currently use a paasche vjr because of it eas of color changing...its dual action as well...for a beginner single action is deff the way to go....just my 2 cents

I've been using a Badger Crescendo for a number of years and I've been extremely happy with it.. especially lately since I've switched paint brands. I can spray an very nice thin, light line when needed. it's dual action, siphon feed, internal mix.

Also how hard is it to clean your brush after you have used it, do you do any thing special or use any special cleaners? Sorry to jack your thread but i am really interested in buying one of these air brushes and wanted to know a little about them and all. Thanks for the great info

well cleanup will depend on the tpe of paint you're using and the style of airbrush. It takes me about 5 minutes, 1 paper towel and 2 Q-tips to clean mine.
