How and what all do I need to change to make my truck 3s capable?
slash BL2s

- ESC
- Motor
- 3s Battery

I would suggest the 10bl120 G2 wp Hobbywing combo, with the 3660 motor. You would need a 5mm bore pinion if you were to go with that motor. I have the same system in mine, but it's a older discontinued version in the ezrun series and I only run it on 2s, and it's a handful lol

Maybe I got the odd-ball, but the Hobbywing Quicrun G2 combo (10BL120 + 3660 @3250kv) I just opened last night has a (1/8") 3.175mm motor shaft, NOT 5mm.

That's weird. I thought the 3660 series of motors had a 5mm shaft. Unless they changed something from the ezrun series and quickrun series of motors. Ill look into that, thanks for the heads up ;)

Edit: @9x19 , are you sure you didn't get the 3652 can size motor?

You most likely ordered the wrong combo. The 3250kv Quicrun motor is a 3652 size motor. The Quicrun 3660 motors only come in 3150kv and 3700kv.

I'd figure on another pinion gear being needed as well. Depends on your motor selection, runtime, driving style... all that good stuff.

Which Slash BL-2S platform are we talking about? I ask because a platform being 2wd, or 4wd would sway my decision on size of motor.

I got the 2wd slash. What about esc?

Without knowing anything about your plans, or budget, my default answer would be Hobbywing EZRun series options. For a 2wd short course truck, I'd look at an EZRUN MAX10 G2 Combo (80A ESC + 3652 G3 3300kv Motor). If wanting something a bit lower priced and sensorless, Hobbywing's Quicrun lineup has the QUICRUN WP 10BL120 G2 3652SL 3250kv combo.

Running 3S packs... I probably would not go any higher than 3300kv range of things. That's just me. I'd be totally fine with a 3650/540 size motor in 2800kv-ish range for my 3S usage. I do my SCT bashing on medium-ish backyard track and don't need/want excessive speeds. Your RC running environment maybe more open and speed is what you're after. With the right gearing, a person can make many choices work for them. Plugging numbers into a RC speed calculator may help narrow down your kv options suited for you.
