Inside a 3S Traxxas battery

I have a Hota S6, and it’s nice for what it is.

But you can get better for a bit more.

Look at the Junsi iChargers. I currently have the Junsi iCharger DX6, 65a 1500w dc dual charger. Charges 2 6s bricks in 15-20 mins, 2a balance. It’s a great charger. You will need a dc power supply though, I used 2 server power supplies and made them output 24v. It’s a powerhouse.

I found a new HOTA D6 Pro for $90. Good deal? Cuz I do have my eye on an IMARS D300. What do y'all think?
Grab it. That's a great deal on a charger that is better than the D300.

D6 Pro is AC.
Be sure to buy the US version. EU will have different plugs, voltage...

You'll want to buy appropriate charge cables for your batteries too.
Yes, I'm aware that Europe uses 220v and 50hz for power. Charge cables aren't really a worry for me. I just figured out a way to charge my Traxxas 3S pack with my Shark robot vacuum base charger. It uses 3 18650 batteries in its pack so 3S. It's almost done too. All good

The charger is sold as 2 different versions. The Eu version is usually cheaper. 😉

I'm sure you'll work it out. 👍

Actually... from what I'm seeing, the cheaper version is the D6 thats powered by DC voltage only and the more expensive one is AC and DC input voltages. The cheaper versions rarely show a pic of the back of it, the other always does so you can see the AC plug on the back. And they always show the AC adapter cord too. That one is like $120-$130

The cheapest I found the DC only version is $84.
The cheapest AC/DC combo version is $107.
Both look identical besides the A/C plug on back left side. Why they're both called a D6 without a special version designation letter or number? Idk

My Traxxas charger smelled toxic for about the first 20 uses. Had to keep garage door open and large fan going. No smoke or excessive heat, just really stinky.
Probably the chinesium in the circuit board.

Same. Always like burning plastic or wire insulation. I know the smell
That's a sure sign they used the bare minimun electronics in the charger. The resistors are likely running at their limit, and are offgassing the products used to make them. Ever smelled a capacitor or resistor pop? It could be chemicals they use to make the PCB as well.

The AC/DC version is called the "PRO" 😉
