I picked up a set of Monsoon 5.1 surround sound speakers from a friend of mine for 75$ last week, brought them home, and then realized I couldnt use them because my audio card didnt have 3 channel output.
So..........
Yesterday I went to Circuit City and picked up a Sound Blast Audigy 2 Platinum !!! Regular price on this card is 199$, and after rebates, I picked it up for 99 $ !!! Couldnt beat it!
Go home, installed the card (had to leave the live drive out as my bays are all full lol), plugged in the speakers, installed the software and BOOM!
Man this thing is awesome! Both the speakers AND the card! For 175$ it was some of the best P.C. related money I've spent in a while!
Now all I need to do is find a good deal on rear adjustable speaker stands. This way I can put them back when not in use as well as home in on the sweet spot easier.
