It seems like what they want is blanket permission giving them power of atty. Over my future finances.
Ego is the death of many things. Looks like they believe they have gotten so big I can't live without them. Authority issues are a b$tch....I gave someone else my $ today.
I might call them at some point...

I was having an issue with a return, Amazon wanted to charge me for driving it to the post office.
I kept cycling through the reasons until one came up as no charge. Incompatible
Right now I have other stuff to deal with. I am content to ignore the Ai email, and figure sooner or later a real person will have read it and reach out if there has been no resolution.

For rc, banggood has some of the same stuff I might have ordered from Amazon. They also have options for stuff in USA warehousing that arrives in a week instead of waiting forever these days.
Genuine hobby grade stuff I have always bought from major hobby online retailers, or my lhs. Nothing has changed there.

Amazon screwed me with their warranty scam about a decade ago... not a cent has been spent with them since.
RockAuto tried to charge me for a cheap chinese part in an expensive Moog box. When I refused it, they tried to charge me to return it to them.
SCAMSCAMSCAMSCAMSCAMSCAMSCAM!!!!!!!
Over $1k/month spent there. Now, not a dime.

Too big to fail my arse!

Companies like these would be long out of business or have better customer service if more ppl woke up and told them to stuff it where the sun don't shine.

Complaints get ignored. Its a bit harder to ignore empty accounts, poor sales and angry board members.

Money talks.

You said it. A real vote is the 1 you make with your dollar. A company that can't even make time to have a real person get in touch, and tries to bully me into whatever they want isn't winning my future business. Convenience and necessity are 2 different things.
The next thing I would have bought from Amazon for convenience would be a replacement for my can opener that broke a couple days ago. Too bad for them I have to drive past a grocery store, a hardware, and a dollar general on my way to work tomorrow. I'll just pick 1 up on the way in.

I try to shop locally as much as possible. Local farms, markets... not big chains when I can avoid it.

I do a fair amount of 'deal shopping' on ebay.
I don't mind buying used stuff generally either.

I'm pretty tired of big business getting a say in how I live my life.
I'm tired of THEM deciding what MY new 'normal' should be. What I need to accept and accomodate to allow for THEIR profits...
The nonsense they get away with is 1000% next level consumer f*ckery.
I give them as little of my money as possible

A lot of us have gotten accustomed to getting orders in a day or 2. I don't mind adding a bit of time to that from other retailers.
I still remember way back. I used to go through the cabelas catalog, fill out the form in the center of the pages, mail it in....wait for them to get it, process the order, get no tracking, and wait for them to mail the product to me after weeks of waiting. Probably got 2 more catalogs while waiting so they knew you had another order form. I'm not saying I want return to that system, but I can wait a week or 2 without crying about it.

Others have suggested calling them as well. I find that when people or companies treat me like crap, I tend to make very little effort to keep them in my life...so I have not.

This sounds like a huge error on their part, and a giant security risk that could end in a class-action suit for them. If you generally like Amazon, I would have them call you and speak to someone.

You can request that they call you here.

Agreed, but at least you can tell them to FO. But seriously, it could resolve the AI bot hounding you. One less loose string in your life.

I like to assume their robot is scouring the internet for the key word amazon in any context.....this thread will be a good FO when they find it.
