I have the Novak Millenium now, and I'm not happy with it. I've had it with my packs getting up to 150 degrees and dropping 3 volts before it cuts off (set at minimum 24mv delta). :nope:

Which charger out there has the best PEAK DETECTION for Nimhs? Maybe one with an optional temp probe? A good trackside charger that I can set and walk away from? Under $200?

Thanks.

Do you have the Millenium Pro or just the Millenium? I have the Pro. Using the NiMH2 method (which automatically controls the threshold), my packs never got hot, but were always fully charged. Under $200, I'd say Millenium Pro or Triton w/temp probe.

Its an older millenium, not the pro. The buttons are on the front as opposed to the top on newer ones.

for $200 and under range, have you looked into purchasing a pulsar 2 competition? i recently purchased one and i'm very pleased with it. it has a 10 amp discharge, adustable amp and peak detection, motor run-in, and 3 profile settings.

Silent, can you adjust the delta voltage? 24 mv is way too much. I set my Triton at 5 mv in the summer and 8 mv in the winter.

24 mv is the minimum for a pack on my Millenium (not-so-pro). Weird that it can't see it drop 3 volts! I wonder if unmatched cells have anything to do with that. I had bought the 24-brick of VIS Monster-Metals from Tower, and just put together 4 packs.

slOeg1n, I have been leaning towards the Pulsar 2 competition. They claim alot of world class drivers use them, and it has this PWM (pulse width modulation algorithm) for maximum efficiency. Have you noticed "better" charges with it?

Silent, sl0eg1n and I are brothers so we both use the pulsar2. We used to use the Intellipeak, exclusively. It worked fine but when charging our receiverpacks in our 710's, his battery charge would just keep climbing. With the Pulsar2, it did as it was supposed to do.

I like the Pulsar because of it's versatility and is geared towards the competative, electric racer (motor run-in and high discharge rate). If your budget is $200, I would say to get this one. PM 710Baby. I beleive he has 3 Pulsar2 Competitions for sale @ 160 a peice. Hopefully he hasn't sold all of them on eBay.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll prolly get the Pulsar Competition 2. The only other one I'm considering is the Competition Electronics PITBULL X3. Anyone have any experience with this new charger yet?

i use the competition electronics turbo 35 gfx it is a little pricy, but you can charge, discharge and run motors from it at pretty much any amp you want. it saves you from having to buy some other equiptment
