are them nicad battery packs u can get any good and how long do they last because i got 1 id like to put in my XTR but i dont trust it much.:ponder2:

should i maybe stay with my 4 AAA batts?:ponder2:

Some of the better rechargeable packs will give you hours of running. Forget the cheap NiCd ones though, go for a 5-cell NiMH pack, preferably 1400mAH but 1200mAH or 1100mAH will do.

Does the XTR have an unusually small space for batteries? You may be forced to stick with 4 aaa alkalines. If you try going with 4 aaa NiMH or NiCAD, your peak voltage is 4.8 which as at the very bottom of what you really need. Alalines put out 1.5V per cell. Rechargeable batteries put out 1.2V.
