Hi all,

I've just got a brand new Jato, not run it yet but finished setting everything up. This evening I was fine-tuning the servo adjustments using the Traxxas link app, when they started glitching out, as can be seen in the vid below:

It has not done this before now. I noticed that the rx was blinking red when it happened, which according to the manual means a low rx battery. I am using a 6v nimh pack which was reading as 6.1v on my charger, so it wasn't low. Though for some reason on the Traxxas Link app, it is showing the voltage as 11v… And also the engine temp as 18 degrees, when in reality it is more like 22 degrees?

Should I just rip out the Traxxas servos, radio and telemetry, and just install some savox and a Radiolink? I've already got an IR temp gun and a SkyRC gps 🙄

I would first try rebinding the radio and see if that does anything. After that, I would disconnect one servo at a time and test to see if only one of them might be bad and causing a problem. From there, get a voltmeter and check the voltage coming from the BEC.

And I wouldn't advise buying a Radiolink if you don't already have one. They have had issues, and their customer support has be worse than horrible about it.

Congrats on the new rig. Unfortunately some RTR rigs that have the stock servos can be junk.
I've had much better luck with amazon servos. I've even had Savox go bad on me. Never the amazon servos I use.

It seems to be random, one second it works ok, the next it doesn't. I did notice however that the servos got very sluggish before glitching out.

What's wrong with Radiolink? I've had an RC6GS for many years without issue, it's my best radio in terms of range

Both me and @DavidB1126 had Radiolink radios and they started out decent but they had started to have major issues with signal either having really short range or dropping connection or glitching out and making the car either have a mind of it's own or going full throttle for no reason. It happened to me with my RC8X two times one was where it sent my car off a ramp at my local track into wall at full speed and one time while binding a brand new R4FGM receiver it pinned my car to full throttle and it scarred my finger once. Just from what me and @DavidB1126 experienced both of us have long gotten rid of ours Radiounlink transmitters i went to Spektrum with DX6C and will have an iXSR+ soon David now has a Flysky Noble NB4+ and a Futaba 3PV both of our current radios from Spektrum, Flysky and Futaba have been really solid. We both learned from our Radiolink radios that you can't depend on or trust no name Chinese companies like Radiolink or DumboRC they don't care about you or if the product you bought from them has issues they just want money and they'll do anything they can to sweep under the rug any bad reviews they see online.

Check your antenna. Check all the wires. You might have some rsdio interference.

I would check the voltages like I suggested. If all of that is ok, swap your Radiolink in there and see what thst does.

You say this is new? If so, contact Traxxas.

I tired different servos and a different radio. Turns out it was the rx voltage. It was reading 6.1v on my charger but apparently this wasn't enough? It is now charged to 7.25v and everything seems to be working fine.
