A friend of mine just gave me some of those green Energizer 2500mAh rechargeable batteries, The problem is they only put out 1.2v each and that is only 4.8v. I need 6v. So I was wondering could I get a battery holder and use 5 AA instead of the usual 4. And solder a RX battery lead to it. Or would that not work. I know the extra wt, but i am a basher not racer.

Thanks.

An yes I know I need to get a peak charger and a RX batt, I am saving the $80 or so to buy them. I just want to know if these batteries will work.

Yeah, that should be fine. @ 2500 mah you'll get a lot of runtime out of it. just make sure it'll fit where you want to mount it.. that'll be a large rx pack.

Okay thanks Lessen,

I went to radiohack and got a 1 AA battery holder, and got it all hooked up. It isnt to shabby, I was able to put the extra battery towards the front to help balance things out. It works perfectly.

It is in a Hyper 7 PBS, with 625 and 645 Hitech servos. And I was wrong they were Radiohack batteries and they were 2000mAh, that will still last a long time.

yeah, that's a long time for a Rx pack. I run a 1200 in my buggy and it lasts an entire race day. I run Energizer rechargeables in my Tx though... seems to last forever.
