i was having trouble programming the factory kill switch when i first tried to set it but i will try it again today. fuel filte is a must now that i see how dirt can get any where.
it is surprising :)

If the radio is 2.4 GHz system, it's part of the binding procedure.
Yes, it is- but I can't remember it off the top of my head :)

i still have the manual so i will let you know how to do it.

Buy a hump pack and never look back bud,...besides the longer run time you will have a proper 6v supplied to the system,..your servos will also work much better,..i suggest a good charger with your purchase

i am going to get this battery:

And i have a killer charger for my electric heli's... my buggy is going through a cool transformation right now, Thanks for the help.

I'd be scared of any li-po...don't care how safe they are- after my brother decided to cut into one with a pair of scissors and I got some of the gunk inside on my hand I never went near them since. But you've probably had less stupid experiences with li-po batteries :)

Having experience in RC electric heli's i know the proper way to care for LiPo batteries, they are dangerous i have seen them swell and POP but lessons well learned. i like the idea of less weight as the trophy is a heavy rig, i will check the specs on the electronics. i am replacing the throttle servo and the reciever (getting new tx/rx) so i can run three cars. i think i have my mind made up on the BuKu clutch as well and i might spring for their crank case cap if it will work with my motor. any one have any suggestions on good tires for dirt and a new controller? thanks.

I've had good luck with the Spektrum radios. I've been running them since I got back into hobby about the time I started here and have never had a runaway (either air or ground). A DX4c can be had with a single RX for under $100 and RXs run about $40-50 (without AVC). The RXs also have no problem with 2s LiPo power with no regulator.

the DX4C is a great looking controller and i am glad you recommended it, i was looking at the DX4S for $250 but i felt it was more than what i needed.

I was putting a few laps in today..here's a picture of full throttle raceway in kissimmee, Florida. it's a fun road course :)

Instead of the protek lipo Id go with a LiFe battery instead. Its only 6.6V max which is safer for your electronics than the 8.4Vmax on a LiPo. Either that or use a cheap BEC to knock the LiPo down to 6V

Yep. Id use that over the LiPo unless you're trying to run HV electronics. Although I just noticed that pack only seems to have a balance plug on it? Id make sure it has the proper connector on it that you need.

Yep, the trophy is heavy :P. As for tires I'd recommend the Nanda Badlands, they are what I use and they are really cheap. And for the radio go with Spektrum :)
