Axial SCX24 Power Wagon Build ~ What would you do?

It will work the the reciever of your choice. The esc is the controller, it is built into the system I linked to, you can attach any reciever to the esc. So if you buy the flysky with the reciever, you would just have to plug it in to the esc.

It can be confusing when your starting out, because most ready to run's come with the esc and receiver as one unit. I hope this makes sense.

The Unity motor for the SCX24 is the motor and ESC combined. You would need your own radio and receiver if you go that route.

The FlySky GT5 radio comes with a 6 channel receiver. It's rather big to stuff into an SCX24, but will probably fit just fine in your Power Wagon since it has a pretty big cab. But if you go the Unity route, I would also grab one of the smaller Flysky receivers for the GT5.

The RXGT5 system for the SCX24 comes with the Python Pro ESC with the Flysky GT5 receiver already integrated into the ESC, so no receiver needed. You can control this system with either the Flysky GT5 radio, or the Radiomaster MT12 4in1 Radio system (not the ELRS version - unless you also buy the 4in1 module with it).

Both systems already have the bluetooth module integrated into them. So no need to buy that separately anymore with some of Furitek's newer stuff. The Unity motor requires the (included) repeater module to be plugged in to access some of the features in the Furicar app.

I don't know that I've ever seen just the transmission for sale come to think of it

The trans is pretty easy to get out of the car. 3 screws on botton of skid, plus two driveshaft screws. So if you decide to upgrade it later, no big deal.

Maybe grab the Injora one or the Hot Racing one.

That's right, four in the front and four in the back, it says 8 peices they just mislabeled it as "front"
I have never seen them sold as only front or rear.

I don't see what you're on about. You have the front and rear links there. There's 8 on the truck. You need 8 links for your truck. I am confused

It's been a minute since I've worked on an SCX24, but have you gone in and just try installing them. I know the links are different for certain models. Perhaps they packaged the wrong ones for your model.

I haven't tried to install yet, but I've checked sizing and what not and I just think the rear is not the correct links...

In the above, the far left two links are to replace the "Y" link in the stock Power Wagon. The middle two links are the front links that connect on top of the Y link. The right 4 links I assume are intended for the rear, but they don't have the length on either of the 4 links to replace any of the rear...

Thoughts?

The right 4 links (the ones with the bend) are the lower links. The straight ones are the uppers. But they do look too short.

Actually looking back your post with the screen shot shows the right length links, what you received aren’t though I believe. What’s the length marked on the links you have?

Oh OK. Your Power Wagon is the same as the Gladiator wheelbase. You should have 4 links that are quite a bit longer than the others.

If it were me, I would return those and grab a set of these:

I have links like the ones you bought, the flat bar type. But I like those rounded ones with the screw on rod ends better. Personal preference, but I put a set on our Mr. Crawly build and love them.
