would be mine, its plug and play, works in a lot of vehicles and is pretty waterproof, it is what i would run in most of my trucks if i could,
but that being said i also honestly prefer the hobbywing series of motors with their built in esc, it saves me real estate but powers everything very nicely.
so for me if i was going mix and match on my electronics i would run a mamba with my motor, but if i was just looking for ease of use and survivability i have had excellent luck with my hobbywing quickruns,
whats the vehicle? the mamba would be overkill in a crawler, it has a LOT of features that will never be useful and it would be a "waste" of money?? not really a waste but just unused,

a crawler will benefit differently than say a drift car from the esc's so that matters, my crawlers never reach 80 mph, the esc is not really stressed like it would be from a faster car i wouldnt think.

altho i could be completely wrong.
I've used the mamba and had no issues with it, but i personally prefer the hw motor/esc combo

The Castle 1/10 Mamba X would be my choice.

It is so versatile. I had one in a TRX4 paired with a slate motor. I have one in my Vanquish H10 Optic.
For crawlers/trail trucks the auxiliary wire is awesome! You can adjust settings on the fly or use the crawler/rock racer mode.

I currently have one in my Tekno MT410 2.0 running on 3s/4s.

I put one in a Losi LMT running a Holmes Hobbies 2700kv puller pro.

I have another one coming in the mail today to find it's home in an Axial Ryft.

Thanks for all the info, I am running a TA semi 6x6, wanting it to be faster than torque.

I was REALLY wanting to buy an Elceram Nitride esc. I waited for Amain to release V2. I was impressed by the design and stand alone capabilities.
They are off their rockers on the price though.
The exact same (V1) esc is avail in EU for 1/2 the price.

I bought a Hobbywing XR10 Legend directly from HW ultimately.

I just recently added that XC brand to my arsenal. I got the sensored E10 and have zero complaints. The features and quality are on Hobbywing's level, and the price is comparable to amazon junk. The price has increased since I picked mine up so, they are catching on. Make no mistake, the XC E10 is no piece of junk and I have literally ran the piss out of it in my Rlaarlo XTS-F10. The car is stout (and very fun) and the esc never runs its fan because it probably doesn't have a big enough load on it. It is powering a Holmes Puller Pro 3500Kv which is an amazing and odd choice (for science) of motor for that car.

If you could only own 1 ESC, price not an issue to run in the 1/10th scale on/off road what is your go to?
I am glad you finally posted what RC chassis you needed to fill, 'cause 1/10th scale off-road can mean many things and may need many powers.

:p:D
I've shoved 1/8 scale ESCs into 1/10 scale platforms before, and sometimes 3S & 4S LiPo batteries are involved. And then, let's not forget, we have 1/10 scale short course trucks being same size as 1/8 scale buggies.

You must do a build thread on that semi, or at least create a thread dedicated to that Associated rig. :thumbs-up:

You don't think Hobbywing has any evolvement with the construction of XC ESCs?

I think it is Hobbywing honestly, and if it isn’t then it is right on par. The app to change parameters is cool, I have never used the Hobbywing app.

XC claims to be an independant manufacturer of ESCs. They build ESCs for industrial and 1:1 auto too. RC ESCs is not their entire business. They seem very capable of designing their own products. I do not believe XC is a Hobbywing rebrand.
