Actually I havn't converted anything. I was in the market for new wheels n tires a while back so I picked up a set from my LHS. The next day we went out bashing so i thought I would mount up the new wheels to see how they did in the grass. Turns out the guy at the LHS sold me the wrong ones. They were for an MP-6 not the 7.5. So one of the guys we were bashing with had a Dominator and said, "hey why dont you try these wheels". I was hooked!!! My 7.5 and the Dominator both use 17mm hubs. It was a perfect fit.
I went back to the LHS and explained he sold me the wrong ones and after arguing about it for a while we decided he would take the wrong ones back and exchange them for another set. He just got the new tread pattern in so I got the Ofna wheels with Ofna tires on there now.
Couple things I need to point out.
1) Mounting such large heavy tires will KILL your bottom end. I could routinely do donuts in the dirt with my buggy tires at 1/2 throttle. With these things I have to give it full throttle just to get it to jump off the line...I can't get them to spin at all now.
2) It damatically increases the throttle input sensitivity while in the air. I could NOT get the buggy to back flip or even forward tilt while in the air. Now I have to be extra carefull not to touch the throttle at all while in the air because it will flip at will, both directions. Almost did a double back flip in my front yard jumping garbage cans. I little more speed or a higher angle on the ramp and I'm sure I could have pulled it off.
3) Make sure you have aluminum clutch shoes. I have gone through two sets of MIP performance clutch shoes so far....the alum ones are on order and will be here this week.
Other than that they are great!!!!! They increase the ride height by more then an inch making it much much easier to go through taller grass. Since they are so soft they absorb tons of g-force when landing. No matter what i do no matter what the surface, I cannot get the buggy to flip over in a turn. And they make it look mean as hell.
