Artemis II Flight, current data

Suprising I havent seen any chat on here about the Artemis II flight. Pretty spectacular what is happening with this, first manned crew in over 50 years to swing around the dark side of the moon. I got on the Nasa app and have been looking at real time updates. Fascinating! The numbers in the circles represent mission elapsed time, current speed of Orion, distance from Earth, and distance from the moon.

I would be much more interested if the footage was live, clear and uncut by govt entities.
I believe theres a lot more happening in space than we are being told about.

I think its great that we are exploring space again. It just seems like we should be focusing on getting our own mess straight before we go and mess up a whole new planet too.

Legit point, but we have been fallen and messed up for thousands of years. What I love about space exploration, is that self pride vanishes and the ability to see beyond ones self is greatly enlarged. We just have to look at some of the images from things like the Hubble Telesope to see just how small we are. I think that in space, the cultural differences in humanity, the animosity, political ideals, ect. all dissappear, and we are overcome by the beauty, expanse and vastness, and sheer wonder overcome anything we claim to know.

Plus, there just may be those elusive aliens!

I think in most ppls eye's thats exactly how the perspective would be.

Then I think about the ego's of Musk and some of our comedic "world leaders" on a spaceship... How long do you think it will take before they start fighting over who gets the 'light side' and who gets all the gold that hasn't even been discovered?

Humanity has put the WRONG ppl in charge.

I think its pretty likely that there are aliens. Prob with technology to improve the lives of every person on the planet. Maybe miracle cures, clean free power... All things that the little ppl like us will NEVER find out about.
Theres no profit in it.

I've watched some of it, was hoping to see Transformers when they got to the dark side of the moon yesterday... no such luck though...

In seriousness, I do think think this mission is pretty darn cool. Good to see us exploring outside of our atmosphere again. Maybe this will help humble people a bit. The vastness of space is truly amazing.

I've been tracking every minute of it, and I feel alone in my excitement. I've been hyping my kids up about it, trying to help them understand how historic this event really is...

Not a single mention of it by their teachers at school. No focus on it in the media. The narrative that social media would have you believe is that it's fake. I couldn't even find it on the home screen of Netflix when I went to stream the crew bypassing the old Apollo record yesterday afternoon. It's been buried by the algorithms. People don't want to see it and they don't care. It's legitimately sad and concerning that we're letting ourselves become Wall-E'd as a society.

When we were kids, space exploration was still new and exciting. Now kids look at it, and it can't compare with hollywood special effects.

I don't have cable any more either.

I think a LOT has changed. Not just my perspective, however warped it may be, but in reality too. I just don't feel any federal trust.
Its hard fir me to invest my time into more federally approved 'factual' type videos.

I think we are making history right here on earth, right now and I'd like to change a lot of that too.

The most I’ve seen about it has all been trying to debunk it and point out things that make me buy into the idea it’s all staged again…

I’m a big believer in aliens and all that stuff but the gov has me questioning legitimacy of this moon stuff.

I totally get a lot of the skepticism, current media and Hollywood have stolen a great deal of the excitement of things like this. How sad, that this has happened to a lot of folks. I tend to be of an optomistic mindset though, and this excites me. I was glued to NASA's youtube channel watching the launch live, and every time I see the moon for the past 5 days, I pause and wonder about the 4 astronauts that are making this trip, what they are thinking, what they are seeing, and most importantly, the level of emotion they must be experiancing.
Yes, we do live in a messed up world, we are a broken, pridefull people. But there is hope, and I trust these four individuals making this historic journey will be able to put into words what they have experianced.

In the meantime, there are 4 more moon rises before they get back to earth, go out and take a look. But dont just take a quick look, pause and wonder. Realise that somewhere between this Earth and the moon is a capsule the size of a van coming back, and take a minute to pray for these 4 in it, and for their safe return to their families.
