Good morning all, hope you are having a wonderful weekend! I am a newbie to the RC world, and have an Arrma Senton that I picked up used and in great operating condition asside from a twitchy stock servo. I replaced the servo with a new stock servo, and problems have ensued. Now I have nothing electrical responding accept for a fast blinking red light on the ESC (I was about to assure the servo was centered when problems ensued). I am just wondering if there are any resources anyone can recommend to help with diagnostics and trouble shooting. I am mechanically and electrically inclined, and have a meter, but have found the manual to be of little help. I am hoping for a more in-depth diagnostic tree, and/or test methods to help determine what my issues are before asking for help if I can't find the right answer.
Thank you kindly, and have fun bashing!
Tim

I think flashing red on an armma esc is low voltage cutoff. Which esc does it have?

But even if lvco is the esc issue, you should still have steering response.

So my questions,
Is the battery fully charged?
Are the esc and servo wires plugged in facing the correct direction on the receiver?
Is esc plugged in to channel 2 and servo channel 1?
Is the receiver flashing any lights?

Which Senton?.... Boost, 4x4, 3S, 223S, 6S
What ESC do you have?
Profile pic is of the senton he picked up in his introduce me thread. So I'm thinking 3s senton 4x4. But I think they had versions with arrma ESCs and then rebranded them spectrum. Not sure if its a whole different system or just a makeover.

Idk its been like a year since I last messed with an arrma.

I see the body, but, you know, it's used. Who knows what's onboard the chassis.

Any time I have an issue with something, I start from the beginning... rebind the radio and receiver, and redo the ESC throttle calibration. That fast blinking LED thing... does it start flashing as soon as you turn on the ESC?

Good evening Beer Goggles!
So I did find a video of someone correcting the problem I have by using the binding plug and rebinding the transmitter and receiver. I however do not have one. I could easily jumper if the connections were bigger, but I ordered a binding plug for 6 bucks. Oh, and I verified that I haven't burned anything else up by plugging the old servo in, and everything works again. So either I got a bad new stock genuine servo in the mail, or I just need to re-bind it. Either way, I will take the next step towards pairing this one before complaining to the supplier. I also ordered a set of street tires/wheels, a LiPo bag, a dust cover, and a tool kit with a 2.5mm hex screwdriver. One service with a standard 2.5 mm hex key and I was ready. I will update as to whether or not this fix works, but I am excited to know that it is servo related, that I didn't mess anything else up (yet), and that I have a primary path forward as well as a plan B. Thank you very much for your help! FYI, the video that I am relying on is here:
I can switch between the new and old servos and repeat the function/non-functionality so I think I am on the right track.
Thank you kindly for your reply! I did check the battery charge first, was careful to have the servo plugged in correctly, and not to unplug other units, and the receiver was not flashing at all until I plugged in the old servo, then anytime I would give gas or turn calls it would go solid red. With the new servo, no light at all.
Hope you had a fantastic weekend!

It is a 3s, Serial number looks like a 2007 model year. The BLX 100. I believe this truck is straight stock. I believe I figured it out, at least a path forward I detailed in my reply to BeerGoggles.
Thanks!
Tim

That's funny. That manual say RED, my manual says GREEN.

Did you mean the ESC? A solid LED on the receiver usually means everything is hunky-dory (fine).

Hi Rusty, When I have connected the new servo I get a rapidly blinking red light on the ESC (BLX 100) and nothing, including cooling fans responds. I thought because not even the cooling fans were working that I had other problems. When I attach the old servo again, I have forward reverse, and the servo does it's twitching behavior. If I give gas or a turn signal with the old servo, the receiver (SLR300) has a solid red light while it is receiving the signal. Looking forward to rebinding with the new servo once my binding plug arrives tonight. I think that that will solve my issues onless this new in box servo has some other issues.
THanks!
Tim

We need to know what esc is in the car.. :nopics:
Here are pics of the ESC and Receiver. The red light shown on the ESC would be blinking fast if it were a movie (with the new servo). There is a red light on the Reciever that turns on red whenever a signal to do something is given from the transmitter (with the old servo installed). Will update this thread once I have bound it with the new servo. Thanks all!

Update...
Well thanks all for your help. The new servo I received continues to not work. The receiver will not bind with the handset with the new servo plugged in. I am returning it and have two upgrades ordered from Jennys. The servo I was replacing was is an S651, the ones I have ordered are S662's. My understanding is that they will work as intended with my SLR300 receiver and stock servo saver. The only real down side is that I probably won't receive them until next week. The defective servo is being returned. Looking forward to updating again once the truck is bashing again.
Cheers!
Tim

Unless I have it wrong, I think the S651 has a 23T output while the S662 has a 25T. If so your servo saver will not fit the S662
You probably have it right. Thank you sir!
Tim

Just to close the loop on this thread, the 'new' S651 servo I had purchased was junk. I received a couple of S662's from Jenny's today, and the truck is driving great with S662. I really appreciate 9x19 reminding me that I would need a servo saver as well, Ted at Jenny's was kind enough to add it to my order so everything came at once. I would say that there are a couple of differences between the S651 and S662 that I hadn't anticipated, the dimensions are a little different. The drive gear is taller, so I had to space it up using washers as shown so that the servo saver would clear on the body. Easy, but good to know if anyone else is considering this swap on an Arrma Senton. Got the truck out for a few minutes in a parking lot tonight, it's pretty nice to have responsive steering! Thank you all for your help!
1st pic shows clearance off of the body with the washers installed. Second shows the washers to lift the servo. Third pic shows the height difference on the drive gear that caused problems for me, and is worth knowing about if you are doing this swap.
Cheers and happy bashing!
Tim
