WOW! I am amazed with those results! Even the first part that still left the gauges was sweet because it looked like brand new paint. I love it. I dont have any dents in my things so i dont think I would need any buffering if you did my cooling head, etc. Is the buffering necessary? I like that non buffered look also.

It's all up to the person requesting the work. I don't polish any of my things because I race my cars. These touring cars get put through hell and back. I like the Raw finish for myself. A lot of guys just want the annziding taken off to get a car that matches.

It's mostly the guys that run in the park that want the polished head. Can't do that in racing. Gotta show the markings so the engine can be identified. Honestly, the price difference between the polished parts and raw finish parts is $2. For a chassis, that's a different story. It's more labor intensive.

That looks awesome Diver, nice job! Can you do engine blocks? Or is that too dangerous?

I will only sandblast the engine block but you have to completely disassemble it. THe sandblast media will get into every crack and crevice so that means even the bearings inside must be removed. I has to be a bare carcass.

You do bear carcasses too lmao, how do you get a good shine on bear fur hehe

:jk:

So you can give it the raw look but not the polished? It'd be kick ass to have a polished nitro engine! And yea it would have to be completely bar, never taken out crank bearings before, couldn't be that hard lol.

Diver, what are the possibilities for doing some custom etching? I mean like doing a high polish on a chassis or TVP's and then overlaying a durable stencil and bead blasting an image or logo so that it comes out with that frosted look?

I'm so jelouse. I've wanted one of these for a long time now... Things are sweet, and can be used for all sorts of stuff... Nice work for sure!! I love the bling!

what do you use for polishing.. my tvp's are already just metal.. it would be kick ass to have um blingy.. lol

This is where I do my polishing.

220v 3stage 5hp@3700 rpm's and 10" buffing wheel (5 layers). I use green Rouge (High cut/polish) from Matchless corporation. The rouge comes in a solid brick. It's not liquid. It's all industrial grade.

I was just thinking about this. A highly polished chassis with satin flames?!? Hmmmmm. I'd have to seal it with some clear but I will be trying it.

It's been a while since I started this thread but I figured I'd breathe some life into it and let you guys ponder over things bit ...

Diver, is it possible to take a black pipe and make it crome?

I know at the stinger of my exuast, some of the back came off and its silver underneath.

Thanks.

Damn, that is some NICE work! Better be sure to let us know how much it's gonna cost us when do you decide to start doing it.......hmmm....what can I have blinged out?.....

It can be done as long as the annozding can be scrached off.

What can you do to protect the aluminum from tarnishing (or oxidizing) after you polish it? Is there a coating or something that can be done?
Only way to protect it is with clear laquer. Otherwise, mothers metal polish will do the trick.

Send me a pm of the work you want done and the parts as well as condition. Pics help. I can give an estimate but the more scratches and gouges that need tending to will determine final cost.
