That's a great post, Matt. We all remember your earlier attitude, and NOW, you've just been voted in as "Member of the Year."
We're honored to have you as part of our group, and you should be SERIOUSLY proud of your accomplishment.

We're with you 100%.

WOW Matt, I didn't know that! Good on you. I drank my 20s and early 30s away, but I dodged the "problem" train, barely.

Changing is fun. Just took me a while haha.

Eventually we all have to grow up. Looking back at what I did in my youth, it's wonder I made it this far.

The only exception to growing up is Rolex, our own Peter Pan.

I hear you loud and clear brother. I'm a full blown alcoholic. Hell of a hurdle to get over, but very doable. I joined this sight right when I sobered up. You can go back through posts and actually see my attitude improving over the coarse of the last couple of years.:) As to get back to the point of the thread and quit jacking it up, I've been told many a times by wise fellows with many years under their belt to straighten my ass up or pay the price. Boy, were they right!

Well because it's you messing my thread up its ok. :) Congrats on being sober. Its tough both of my parents fought with it and much harder things also. It cost my dad his life and almost my mother. Thank God I was adopted by my grandparents when I was 1. Who knows how I would have turned out.

But to get back on track. A year ago I met a guy that just builds planes for local guys. He built a 2 stall garage just to build planes. He is in his mid 60's and he says he puts in an 8hr day building planes. And there is a local flight club about a mile away. I'm going to check it out this summer. I never knew that planes were so popular around he until i start talking to people when I'm there for a service call. Its making me want to get one by I really can't afford it. I will stick to little air hog helis for now.

NO WAY!! I'm never going to grow up.....I refuse! My wife tells people she has 3 kids and that I only have 2.....LOL.

Matt - Congrats on your journey. I lost my grandfather when I was younger and recently my father to alcoholism. I've had to watch myself and keep it in check over the years. I hated to see what happened to them but I honestly think it kept me from going the same path.

I'm a short bus kid. :D

I can remember my Dad talking about "hand-loading" coal and using mules to pull it outside. Doesn't sound like "good 'ol days" to me...
Didn't get paid money. You were paid in "script." That had to be spent at the company store. Can find a few of those old buildings around.

You guys that are talking about flying.
It's not that expensive. Get one of those "old guys" to help you get started.
When I flew, 90 percent of the time all I did was wipe off my plane and put it away.

And Rolex, that wasn't possum you smelled. I found a raccoon in the road.
I'm trying a new recipe and changing the still a bit, so the "fire starter" is a little different.
I did get a possum with the Bronco this evening. Cooking it right now. I'll save ya a breast and a leg. :D
