I'm thinking of making the trip up there since I am planning to race both my touring and buggy. That's a good 2 hrs for me.

I'm not going to get into the middle of the crap going back and forth, but I will say this. NASA has a whole lot of spare metal and a big fab shop and engineers who work late nights. I know a few Mustang guys who've made their own shifters, linkage adapters, motor plates, you name it from extra material in their spare time. Is it taxpayers money? Well, maybe so. But if I worked at NASA in the capacity of these Mustang guys I know, and I was into RC, then I might be making me some wheels, chassis decks, or other parts.

Just an FYI....

Thanks for the support, i'll try to get pics soon to prove it, comparisons with the stock chassis

this whole thread would have had an entirely different tone if such great claims hadnt been attempted. there would have been no BS flag to throw up, no argument, etc. all that needed to be stated was an accident was made and remind people of how easy it can happen. even if you get pics, there is no proving it came out of any nasa shop, and even if it did, that still doest garrenty any kind of quality of workmanship. I'm making a set of prototype chassis's myself for 2 guys in cali to extend thier truggies, however you wont see any bold claims, just that they are to the exact specs they want.

He is only a 3rd party!!! He didnt say Its the best...b/c its a NASA!!! He just stated it was made by NASA... so some one at NASA made up an RC part.It could be 6xxx T6...or some rare NASA dumpster matl......who knows? He didnt make any claims it's the best b/c of that , its just a cool fact. I have some Alcon towers and arms.................lol. And no I can't prove it other than my crappy craftsmanship! Anyway...........................lol

I can also add this...NASA has workshops that do Ti welding right...there are certain types where they go into the chamber and need to stay in for a certain amount of time....when NASA needs something done they go in and do what they need but the guys are in there for another hour or so...this time is subcontracted out to various specialty shops....I'm not familiar w/ the super specifics but my company has done a lot of bidding to do work for their HVAC system....I've been to the facility a few times and got to see some of the fab shops they have and most of what was being done at that time was other jobs......there is even a Bicycle manufacturer that has their frames made there......I'm not saying Bouzooki is correct in how the chassis was made or procured but it is possible to have machined parts from a NASA shop.....I'd be very scepticle if he agreed w/ the mystery metal crack though....there's a whole section of the grounds there that anyone can go and get pricing for custom parts...I'm sure the price tag would be obscene and no person in their right mind would pay for a one off chassis from them......

I know a chassis wouldn't be welded but that was the shop I saw that had sub contracted jobs in...

actually jeff, the "best" claims werent about the chassis, read the entire post and you will see the claims were made about the 3 year old chassis design being the best.

I have an R40 for sale with umm...NASA space metal parts, that have been desguized to look like plain old anodized aluminum. It gives the car the ability to leave the ground at high speeds, Diver can confirm this.

NO, Ross hitting you gives you the ability to leave the ground at high speeds and in a barrel roll as well. :boxing:

Wow. Guess I missed it.

Well, with all the world-class professional elite experts in here I'm reluctant to offer any of my measly advice but here's something to throw into the expert toolbox, especially since it hasn't been mentioned once in this thread:

Failsafe.

I dont understand what point you are trying to make.

You said the best claims were not about the chassis then say they were about the chassis?

I'm confused.

The point I was trying to make is, the Veteq along with all o0ther high end 1/8 scale cars for the most part are expensive and I said I believed the Veteq has one of the best designs.

The whole point was to remind people to put their antennas all the way up at all times so somthing stupid like this doesn't happen to anyone else and result in damage.

:)

Bouzouki I beleive Corrado was saying the "best claims" weren't about the NASA chassis rather they were in reference to the chassis design of the older car...he was just clarifying your point on this one topic in the thread...a lot of members are already lookin to tear into ya about your NASA chassis claims, I'd be careful who you start goin after right now.....

plaid got it right. and he's correct, "nasa" is a touchy subject around here for various reasons.
