All kidding aside. I'd tell you that you were full of poop to your face.

My friend crashed his Serpent Veteq 02, if you know about this car, it is better than the 950R, a few days ago, a ROLLING chasis went for $500 on ebay, note this car is 3 years old.

Anyways, he didnt put his antena all the way up and started to drive, he lost
What is this "Better than" statement based on? Personal opnion or design? Only reason I'm asking is because the 950R is the latest in design that has taken over the Veteq badge.

Design for the 950R has replaced the 2piece chassis, wheelbase adjustments and stiffiners have been incorporated; Centax2; adjustable belt tensioners;adjustable front roll center; revised rear suspension via multiple swaybar mounts and carbon rear blocks; and the list goes on. Where the veteq fell short, the 950R took over.

The only way to really appreciate this car is on a track, not just tooling around on a lot.

I'm not busting your balls, just wondering.

So... any picks of the nasa stuff?

Like I said, its not my car, nor do I get to see it every day.

I'll probably get to see it this week, probably this weekend.

Diver, I guess you can say its personal opnion.

Also, the two piece chassis was only present on the 01 model.

The 02 model uses a 1 piece I believe.

The car is a monster on a track and can still compete with the new guys.

The point I'm trying to make is, Its a REALLY kickass car.

I can understand where your argument is coming from since the 950R is simply a newer car.

Not a lot of people know how much potential the veteq has, I guess you can call it underrated but what would you expect from a 3 year old car.

In my opinion.,there is no better handling car once set up properly.

theres nothing that flows in and out of corners like a veteq.

I think the V1 with a solid chassis would be the best.

The Veteq is one of the most complex cars ever designed and asks some more attention in seeting up.

You could call this a flaw.

If I compare the Veteq with the newer cars I see that the new ones are easyer to maintain, the performance is the same.

My friend has the 950R, he considers to step back to the Veteq as he likes the extreme low center of gravity and the driving caracteristics of the car.

With the right set-up a Veteq is hard to beat in a curvey track. Performance is more tight to the engine than the chassis compaired to the other mentioned cars.

I found some info from mytsn.

:) Heh, sorry, I just lost my temper earlier in the thread.

I would like to apologize to anyone I offended.

I got carried away,

:)

No argument here just wondering. The Veteq 2002 series did do away from the original design and went to the monocoque design. That is where the 950 and the 950R evolved from.

As with any on-road, set-up and driver ability dictate the performance. In the 1/8 domain, it's exponential. These cars are known to hit 70mph (when tuned and geared correctly) at the end of a 220 foot straight, which is what we witnessed at BARCAR (edison, NJ).

When compared to a touring car, yeah these are kick ass cars. How you base that is a different story. Speed, handeling, yadda yadda yadda all come into play when taking track times. PRP has an RTR 1/8 out now for about 5-600 bux. There's a lot of people buying them that only know that they're fast but don't know how dangerous these cars are. I came within an inch of my life today (literally) as an MRX-3 whized by my feet on the track. If I didn't jump when I did, I would've been hit by a car doing at least 60mph.

I've seen and know a few people who buy these cars based on speed capability and run them in the park. To see the true ability of these cars, they deserve and require to be on the track, whether it's a 3 year old car or this years design. Bring it to the track and you'll be REALLY impressed. BARCAR's next race is on June 12. Let's race it. Bring your MTX-3 that you got from Fast Eddy too. Get some actuall track time in and learn these cars. We'll help you out.

Hey man, I know your not trying to argue.

I agree with you, if you want to see the full potential of these cars, the track is the place to be.

As for the MTX, right now, I havnt got much chance to mess with it.

I need to dial out the engine, if you'd like PM me with some info on BARCAR's race.

As for the PRP, this is my opinion on the car.

It is a low priced 1/8 scale on road car.

Another shocking thing about this car is, it's designed to comete.

I would consider it a racer right up there with mugen, serpent, and kyosho.

The price atracts people to it.

If someone experianced with 1/10 on road wants to move to 1/8 on road, this car is perfect.

Especially if you dont want to spend a ton.

They're are plenty of cheap touring cars like the ntc3 but do they compete with the mugens and serpents? No.

The PRP on the other hand can compete with mugen and serpent.

My 2 cents.

Anyways, if you want, PM me with some info on that race.

BTW, my friend got hit by the veteq a year ago.

He said it felt like someone swung at his leg with a basebal bat as hard as they could.

:P

CLICK HERE for the BARCAR info and driving directions. June 12 is just a regular race day and my beerday! It's the one after that that is the "high stakes" race (june 25-26).

Thats quite a distance from me.

1:30-2:00 hours away.

Me and the local guys usualy set up our own track since there arnt many tracks near here.

They're quite a lot of local people around here but no track.

The track we setup is fine though.

yeah, it's a trek but it's worth the fun. There is also a new track (public) that is in Bridgeport, CT. I have yet to go there and see it for myself, but it is a dedicated track that can accomodate 1/8 cars as well. I'll post once I have more info.

There is RC Madness in Enfield, CT which is also a good 1:30 hour trip.

I'll have to check out the bridgeport track, of course its public like ours but it may turn out pretty good.
