This is the 7.5 that came with a green head Novarossi SBK (with a boost tube) - same vintage as the (made by Novarossi) Crono in the pic below.
The test was a success although I needed to shut it down multiple times to lower the idle speed.
Easy access to the idle screw is impeded by the pipe and it needed around 3 full turns before it settled down.
After that, it held a good idle allowing me to focus on temp.
It was running around 160 after a few minutes of hard running, so I was able to lean it out and it just got past 200 before the tank emptied out.
Overall, I only went over the 7.5 enough to clean it up and make it runnable (replacing missing screws and pipe stay - replace the clutch-bell bearings - cleaning gunk out of the fuel tank + new lines), but I felt it had some slop that would need to be addressed, and the run confirmed that observation.
Going over it after the run, I noticed that a lot of the steering slop was being introduced by the servo.
You can wiggle the front wheels and see the steering servos post move back and forth - so a replacement is in order.
I'm also needing to add some shims to further tighten things up but need to buy them first.
I plan on rebuilding the shocks before it gets run in earnest this year.
I'll replace the wheel bearings at some point- but need to order them too.
Vintage Nitro rocks!
