So I have like 250+ bucks I got for Christmas. I am trying to build my 1:1 but the Rc bug has bitten me again and I am seriously considering buying a scx 10. What should I do?????

Honestly, I've come to know you pretty well over time Brandon and Id say you will be bored with the scaler within a couple months. Since you know how bad ass it is to have a top notch comp crawler, going to something that doesn't crawl anything impressive, only scale stuff, you will get real bored fast imo. I usually build my scalers for a month or how ever long it takes, drive it once or twice once its finished and then sell it because I'm bored with it, the only fun part of scalers to me is to build them from the ground up then take cool pictures and then move on.
Id say a kick ass basher might be better for you like a 4wd slash...but thats just my two pennies.

Ya By 1:1 I mean my Toyota that I am building. I have a 1:1 Daily driver stock civic for gas mileage. Id love to get parts for the yota but id also like to have a RC again. I am thinking about just going with the RTR SCX trail Honcho. I know it probably sucks but I will upgrade it as I go along as I do with everything. I just really like that its a tacoma like body.

EDIT: Just read SNG's post. I think you might be right Lloyd. I dont think I will ever want to spend that much though haha. Unless they went down in price...

You can pick them up used for $250 ish. I've seen a couple here for sale lately, might be gone now though.

I just remember not liking the SC10 at all. Alot of that was because it spun around so easy. Maybe the 4x4 slash would be better. I really would rather have a crawler though.

I was in the same boat as you until a few days ago. I had some extra money and was planning on buying nerf bars and a bull bar with lights for the 1:1 and then I started getting that itch for an rc. I ended up buying a scale rc and now I can only buy one of the things I wanted for my 1:1....life goes on LOL

I bought it on line Thursday afternoon so I don't have it yet. I don't regret spending the money but I'm a little worried about how it will perform....I was going to go with a Honcho because I know it's a top notch scale rig but I got sucked into something a little more scale.

I think Llyod might be right about me not liking how it preforms after having a pretty nice berg comp rig and seeing it climb up a pretty much vertical rock lol. Maybe I will just have to build another berg ;) or try out the new axial moa... Llyod how is that thing compared to a berg or losi?

Its a good rig out of the box. It reminds me of a berg alot. Lots of stuff out for the axles now too...you not gonna get one setup well for under $750 though, just like the others.

Yay... This is why I keep talking myself out of getting back into RC lol. Maybe I will just spend it on my Yota.

Change your gears on your yota or get lockers. You will want different gears with those 37's. I had to keep mine in 4th (5sp) to go 55 down the highway, that was floored, 5th wouldnt cut it.

Well Brandon I think I would have to agree with Lloyd on this one, unless you plan on driving the scaler on scale type terrain then I to think you will be disappointed, the scalers will go a lot of places from what I have seen but they are definitely not gonna crawl like a comp rig will.

And we know you too Brandon, you get bored easy :)

Ya I know not sure why I'm like that lol. I'll go full throttle into something then just completely lose interest within a few months. I just miss my crawler and my drifter kinda too.

Dude, you need to stop selling the stuff you lose interest in. You just find yourself right back at it in 6 months. Your interests definitely have cycles. I would recommend keeping the stuff you collect since you have a habit of feeling the need for something "new" quite frequently.
