hey guys i just recently set my engine back to stock settings and it runs runs fine i leaned it out so its all tuned fine it will start easily and it idles fine just the only problem is now when i take it to the park and go for abit of a run it turn it off to refil and it doesn't start for some reason it always happens I've tried taking the glow plug out and getting rid of all the fuel then primed it and it still doesn't go?????? please help as i have never come across this problem before?!? :\

when i touch the heat sink i can hold my fingers there it will be fairly warm but not enough to burn my fingers and the compression isnt to bad still a bit of a toug but its almost like its running lean because i can bearly see any smoke coming from the exhaust?

Sounds like its either or.either too lean,so when you run it gets hot,the sleeve expands to a point where theres no compression till its cold again. But you say theres still compression so its more likely vapour lock.Vapout lock is when the carb get so hot that it boils the fuel comming in.You can see it pushing the fuel back to the tank. When it cools down it starts fine.Alum carbs are prone too this bat the plastics do it aswell.Richen up abit.I said at the beging of this post that it might be too rich but that would be for flooding. When the engine stops the fuel in the crankcase evapourates from the heat to a point where it starts again but its unlikly.

possibly... the engine is very hard to tune especially when the reciver and servoes chew up batteries in just 30 mins of running time but i just went to the shop and got some rechargables :D but the stock setting is suposed rich but it seems lean?

Have you sealed the engine?I recently almost toasted a brand new engine. If it wasn't for the extra castor I put in the fuel it would have been dead.I did seal it before but My exhaust seal af all things was stuffed.I didnt think the exhaust seal was that importand till I relised its where my fuel pressure was supposed to come from, duh!I screwed up the needle seals from over tuning trying to get it richer but thats a lost cause if you got no pressure in the tank.Seal EVERYTHING see if that helps. There is a thread here showing you how to do it.

that might be the case i just took it to the park around 15 minuetes ago and it was running way to lean so i just came home

Well if you got it at factory settings and it still runs lean then you definitly have a air leak.Factory settings are usally sopping snot rich to a point where it gets bad for your engine if you keep running it like that.

i thought i had an air leak :( i just unscrewd the high speed needle about 1 turn and it was alright just a tiny bit rich but if any one knoes. does anyone else got any other methods and what needles to play with becuase I'm abit worried if my other one is running fine and its tuned really good then not sure about my new one?
