Next on the agenda is the center diff stand w/brakes.. Parts that are transferred over from the original kit were cleaned in the Uktrasonic, and I de-glazed the rotors for proper bedding of the new semi-metallic pads/calipers.. Most people don’t bother-I do. More upgrades ensue..
Again, no need to bore anyone-I’ve got other build threads that intricately detail this stuff if you wanna check my profile/build threads..
This will not make it to final assembly, and will end up getting the chop this evening..
Mark, remove, debut, and reassemble with thread locker to the set screws.
somehow we need to make this more of a challenge to you....blindfolded ....maybe just use one hand .....you make it look freaking easy....hats off to pal
The arguable “center piece” to this particular build/upgrade process.. Either it was sold this way, or took a fat gash in shipping.. Nobody will ever see it, and it’s completely encased by the front bumper, but the burr bothers me..
After miraculously not losing any digits, we are pleased..
Moving forward..
Screw’d downtown like Julie Brown.. -man, I’m old AF..
Ended up with a single shim behind the pinion, and two over the ring gear side outdrive/bearing assembly..
Bring some Maxima to the party..
Sonofabitch…
So with the 2.2 buggy -2mm diff cases comes the need for 2.2 inspection covers.. I figured I’d give the 2.1 a try as I found the previous owner did not include them for my customer, and it was worth a shot NOT to have to wait on more parts again.. Yeah nah.. Locks the diff obviously, as seen by the grease on the 2.1 cover in the photard.. So what does a fella do to keep from being held up?? Well he break’s into one of his brand new kits for the correct parts until we can get the right parts here to go back in the box..
