i was just gifted an Rc10GT2, and i was wondering the rarity or value. i’m a newbie, and i only have traxxas electric stuff at the moment. i put it up on marketplace for a trade and some guy has been trying to get me to trade for a traxxas slash. i don’t want to short myself, or get rid of something that might be a keeper. any advice or knowledge would be awesome.

Clean RC10-GT2's with working engines are currently selling on eBay for about $300 - $350 from what I see. I would trade it for a Slash if its a 4WD version and not the 2WD version AND its was in good condition or at least had some hop ups on it.

That RC10GT looks pretty solid, and as mentioned, is a pretty iconic RC. All the parts appear to be there, and with a good cleaning, that would make for a pretty killer shelf queen. Hell, the tires don't look to have been ran much at all.

The Slash is nowhere near as good a kit in my opinion. I wouldn't do it without him kicking in a hundred or so at least. This of course depends on the Slash. Got any pics of the Slash?

Welcome to the forum, I'll let someone who knows what they are talking about field your question. :thumbs-up:
i wasn’t sure what to tag my post to get the best help. any suggestions?
the rc10gt is quite iconic so far I know and handles great. I wouldn't trade it for a slash

I never owned one I'm just saying what I heard
thank you for replying. i don’t want to get rid of it just because i do not know anything about it

the slash the wants to trade is 4x4, and it’s got upgraded stuff, just no body or electronics. thank you for replying. it is helping me paint a better picture of what i wanna do

Your question was good, I only deal in electrics so didn't have anything I could add that would help. Some of the guys are pretty knowledgeable on all fronts.

Don't do it. If you want something else, clean that up. Disassemble it and be thorough. Put it back together looking all shiny and new and toss it on marketplace for $450. You have the radio, nice extra tires, and a nice kit there.

^^This sums up my thoughts as well. I wouldn't trade it for the Slash you've been offered. ^^

Welcome.

Oh. Pro-Line shocks. Those are pricey. Pro-Line body pin set, aftermarket aluminum C-hubs, steering knuckles, and wheel nuts. Hmm. I donno. I wouldn't want to turn loose of that RC10GT, simply because I love old RC10 stuff. But that Slash does have a few goodies on it.

I guess it depends on what you want. But I still probably wouldn't pay more than $250 or so for the Slash personally, because, it's a Slash 😅

And the Slash is a bit of a basket case 😉

Hmm, with the pictured upgrades, I might talk to him, but only because I prefer electric models.
Yeah, my thinking as well. If that were a little newer RC10 though, I'd probably do it. But that's an old GT. And it's all there.

I would love to see the RC10 cleaned up. I am betting it can be brought back to showroom shine fairly easily. Then I bet everyone would be saying no way on the trade.

You mean I could always use a new 4x4 offroad truck. 2WD sucks. Lol
Hey now! My Arrma Gorgon is two wheel drive, and it's quite fun to drive. Now I see why you got your RC's taken away! :p 🤣
