does the one way bearing still get used with a pull start? i hate the EZ start system that is coming on the jato I'm buying and want to swap over. also the one way bearing is going out so thats whay i ask.

are the chassis' between the 2.5 and 3.3 any diffrent in case the deal on the 3.3 goes south i may find a cheap 2.5 jato and swap motor. atre there any other diffrences betweent he two trucks?

dont know much about the jato chassis , but yes you will need the owb for a pull start .
if its new maybe keeping the ez start a good idea just for breaking in procedure as ripping your fingers will definatly be included in the package lol

oh and just to let you know , (OWB) stands for one way bearing . :D

Yes the pull start does need the OWB to operate. I have had sometimes an issue where for some reason my OWB is slipping sometimes because my after run oil is making its way past the crank plate and sometimes it slips but other than that it works perfectly. i love my pullstart.

And the chassis for the jatos are exactly the same there are no differences between the chassis they are identical in every way. i think the only difference in the over all car is the wheels.

You guys sure about the chassis? I've bought a 3.3 factory body or two off ebay and had to elongate the factory holes 3-5mm to line it up so it would fit. Seems something is either mounted/molded different or something is longer between the front/rear body mount posts.

thanks guys! and the unit is used i will be buying. i loved my last jato but unfourtunatly sold it to buy a ten-t stupid mistake lol

iv got my list of mods already written up for this one!

When i was looking for the traxxas polished aluminum chassis for the 3.3 it says it fits the 2.5 and 3.3 so i would imagine if it says that it must be the same.

*EDIT* looked at photos online as well and no difference from what i can see besides engine.

Well dont worry even if you dont win there are more. But yeah good luck !!

Yeah, your right. I just looked at the exploded views for both the 2.5 jato and 3.3 jato and everything appears to bet the same part number regarding chassis, towers, mounts... Odd that the bodies I bought didn't bolt right up as they were 3.3 jato bodies NIP that were pulled off new jato's.

i would say your chassis is bent had the same problem with my jato but mine was a good 1/4" off on the holes. by just looking at it you would never know it's bent but lay a straight edge on it and wow it was way out. bent mine with a nice full throttle curb check:whhooo:

I guess that could be the case, wouldn't take much of a bend to make the body posts off a bit.

They have been traxxas brand bodies of the rtr's that people part out on ebay.

The diff between the 2.5 and the 3.3 is the rims and tires, along with the 3.3 had sway bars front and rear. And the 3.3 comes with a wheely bar. I think the gearing is also different.
