A bit of a rant about charger recommendations.

i hear you bro, this is the 30$ charger i used from amazon for a solid year with no issues, it worked great maybe this will work for you. I'm not into competitions or anything just a guy climbing some rocks. i plug it in eait for light to change then trust that its correctly charged. its worked fantastic for me, but I'm starting to want more control over my charging as I've noticed a few of my batteries are having issues, so igot the d6 to see if i could bring one back to life with the nimh charging and charge my cells more fully
but all that aside, i=the amazon special lasted mne a solid year and is still kicking jst fine. if not for my personal CHOICE to upgrade my charger id still be happily using the el cheapo.
id suggest checking that one out
it would work just fine for you i think as your not trying to min max the batteries

For almost 3.5 years, I used two of these, Havcybin IMAX B6 80W Lipo Battery Balance Charger 6A Discharger, RC Hobby Lipo NiMh Li-ion Ni-Cd Digital Lipro Balance Charger Discharger + AC Power 12V 5A Adapter for Rc Car RC Hobby (Blue) https://a.co/d/dbVDNCS
And never had an issue, until someone said that they wouldn't properly charge over 5A, and I needed something that would charge at at least 5.2A, so I bought two of these, SKYRC iMAX B6AC V2 AC/DC Dual Power Professional LiPo Battery Balance Charger/Discharger https://a.co/d/0U3P831

check that link i posted got mine for less than 90 from ali. its legit
I don't know where you are at, but, where I'm at, the cheapest I can get the D6, unless I want to wait more than a month, is $134.

I can get it for less than a $100 from AliXpress or Banggood, but, estimated delivery is October 23RD to November 11TH.

Except, I need one with a U.S. plug. I have looked on Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, Banggood, and a dozen other places, and, unless I want to wait weeks, which I don't, it's beyond out of my price range. Either way, I'm either going to just order two of the IMAX B6AC's, or go back to charging one at a time, since every other charger I have asked about is apparently not good enough.

mine has us plugs, i live in ky, only issue i had was it came programmed in chinese, took me half hour to find the setting to swap to english, but it did swap, it works just fine bro. but get the one that suits YOUR needs. this one suits mine and a lot of other peoples needs.
good luck broski

No, frankly, I have no clue what you mean, since, how is it discharging if you start at say, 3.4V per cell, and finish at 4.2V per cell?

These are just a few of the chargers I have asked about on this and other forums,
LiPo Charger RC Dual Battery Charger Discharger 10A Fast Balance Battery Charger for RC 1-6S LiPo LiHV Li-ion Life 1-15S NiCD NiMH PB Smart Battery RC Car Drone Boat https://a.co/d/cKeUJ6F

Venom Power Pro 4 Battery Charger 60 Watt, 6 AMP - AC Balance Charger/Discharger - 3 Modes for LiPo, LiHV, Life, Li-ion Rechargeable Batteries - Monitor Cell Voltage Readings https://a.co/d/9GkYAod

And, maybe in here they are too polite to outright say they are junk, but, on other places I have asked, they sometimes aren't that polite, and I would simply like to know, what, using my situation, justifies the need to spend way more than I can afford for that one specific charger. Nothing about it makes me think that there is any reason why I have to spend that much for something that I will never see the full benefit of.
First off, the HTRC charger you are asking about - HTRC just had one of their chargers recalled for burning people's houses down. So buy at your own risk. You know what that's like.

Any of the chargers you linked will do what you're asking. Are they junk? No. But they arent great either. Throw a little more money at it and buy the Hota D6 Pro. Or buy a lesser capable charger and pay more than what it's worth. It's your call.

In the time you have spent trying to find a good charger for $80, you could have bought the D6 Pro off aliexpress for around that and had it by now.

They are available with a US plug for $75.50 which is in your stated price range.

Except, that is apparently a one time, new buyer deal. After I put it in the cart, the price changed to $107.65, so I don't know what that is all about, except that I'm not a new buyer on there.

Except, I can't get it for $80 from anyone. Once it's in the cart, whether it's BangGood or AliExpress, all the promotional prices disappear. The cheapest I have seen, for me, was AliExpress, shipped from China, for $103.99.

I stopped buying from both AliExpress and Banggood for just this reason. I used to buy a ton of HSP chassis kits on there, until, because of where I live, the prices started being as much, if not more than buying on eBay.

I clicked on it, $79.12. Didn't add to cart. I've never purchased from Aliexpress.
Look closely though. When I click on it, it says $80.62, but, next to that, crossed out, it says $107.65, under that, it says, new shoppers save $27.03, and further to the right, it says welcome deal, so, when I put it in the cart, because I'm not a new buyer, it reverts to the $107.65.

Sounds like a very basic charger would do everything you require.

For discharging, you can use your high-power discharger. The one with wheels on it.

That’s correct, but I think it’s only relevant if he wants the batteries to reach full charge more quickly. Charging at 1C doesn’t sound like fast charging is a requirement.

For faster balanced charging, the charger should indeed have a fairly fast discharging feature. When the first cell reaches full charge, the charging current of the entire pack is limited to the rate of discharging the full cell.
Yes, I’m well aware. It’s beyond apparent that no matter what answer you give, no matter how much you help, this dude has made it clear that he’s going to get all passive aggressive, play the pity party, and attempt to argue about something. I’m good on that. “you can lead a horse to water….”.. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Took the time to be reasonable, courteous, and educate him so that he can begin to make these choices on his own, and get a bunch of nonsense, and not even a “thanks pal”.. At that point, a thumbs up, and good luck is what you’ll get from me. 🍻

There are dozens and dozens of seller on Ali. Go there and search for the best deal if THIS link isnt good either.

I have no clue what will work for me, but, what I do know is, there has to be something I can afford, that will work for me for around the $80 mark, but, like always, if you aren't willing to spend a bunch of money needlessly, it's never good enough, so, I'm just gonna end up doing what I always do, and settle for what I can afford. If it doesn't work, then the cars can just go back to sitting on the shelf like they have since December.
Do what you gotta do. I started out with three B6AC chargers (60 and 80 watt versions).

I didn't pay more than $15 for any of them. You gotta start somewhere. As years past, my understanding of LiPo batteries and chargers changed... my charger needs & wants changed as well. I never thought I could want more than 2S LiPo batteries in the hobby, but here I am today with 4S/6S platforms.

for example, the SkyRC T100, and instead of people replying with their real world experience with it
Funny you should mention: I have the T100 and have been perfectly happy with it. My neighbor had a dead battery on his 1:1 car and I helped charge that one, too.

The discharge function is laughably slow but I usually just charge up to storage after driving. When I’m practicing, the voltage is close to 3.8 V per cell after 5 minutes on the track anyway.

The part about never owning anything but 2S won't change for me. When it comes to RC cars, I'm unique. I have them strictly to purposely beat on and break, as stress relief, and I'm not willing to spend $500+ to do that, when, for more than 20 years, 1/10 scale has worked perfectly for that use. They have the right amount of speed, parts are cheap, and they are easy to work on when I do get around to fixing them.

From what I read, they will only go up to 5A though, and I need something that will do at least 6A.
