I can't decide if I want to convert my truck to electric or not?
If I did convert it I would use the tekno conversion kit with a hobbywing 150a sensored ESC paired with a tacon 2200kv sensored and run 4s.

I just can't decide if I would likd it better or not!!

I already have an awesome charging station and lipos!

If your gonna convert it spend the money on the Castle MMM 2200 system you can pick them up right now for $215 new from Castle. (See the Castle Garage Sale thread in the Electric Section). Otherwise leave the Losi 454 in it IMO.

To be honest I don't like the castle system, it cogs way to much and is in unpredictable at low speeds, or at least that's the way my neighbors seems. I run the Same system I mentioned above in my emaxx and I can out run his... i will say it has more torque then mine but I won't be able to put all that torque down to the ground without spinning out anyway.

I'm pretty sure that its a problem with his kit or something is wrong with his setup. I'm pretty sure most everyone here would agree the Castle system is more powerful. Then again it isnt sensored so yeah it may seem a little less smooth when accelerating at low speeds but youd seriously have to overgear it for it to cog which doesn't seem to be the case here since you suggest he has it geared lower for more torque. I dont want to argue about that point though, what I'm trying to say is a high quality kit like the Losi 8ight-T deserves high quality electronics IMO. If you want sensored go with a Tekin RX8 and a Tekin 2250kv or a 2000KV and gear up a little. Either way though my main point is the Losi 454 is a rebadged LRP .28 spec 3 which is a great nitro engine without stepping up into the realm of Picco and Novarossi so my opinion would be go with high end electronics or leave it nitro. Up to you though, thats just my :2cents:

Ok you make some very valid points I really like the tekin setup I have read a lot here lately about not going any higher then 2000kv that 1800kv would be perfect for the 8ight T

Greywolf convinced me to go with a tekin setup in my rc8t and i have no regrets. Very smooth with plenty of tuning options.

Tekin all the way IF your going to convert.. Pricey but worth it..

Despite what you may think, Hobbywing is high quality. And have proven more reliable than Castle and Tekin in 1/8 scale.

Hobbywing is good quality for budget systems and I've owned them, as well as Castle systems, and Tekins. Hobbywings dont compare to either of the other two. If Hobbywings were better than Castles and Tekins youd see em in all the big races.

I think that has more to do with budget, than quality.

I know quite a few who find them as reliable as Castle, and smoother than Tekin.

I don't understand your budget comment? No matter how much money someone has, if a system is smoother and better, they are going to pick it no matter the price, especially if it's more affordable?!? That mean more money can be spent elsewhere in upgrades.

Good budget system? Yes.. Better than a Tekin system? :\ Have to disagree..

The Tekin has so many programmable options that you can make it exactly how you want it. Aggressive or more linear.. I'm sure you know that though..

Btw, i have a Hobby Wing system in my Revo, not even close to the Tekin, imho..
