Hi all.
So I am trying to get this last mod into my SCX24. I've installed an FMS 2 speed transmission, but the micro servo uses a JST-PH 3 pin connector, rather than a standard servo connector.

I'm considering getting a new ESC for it and utilizing my extra GT3b receiver or getting and adapter so I can plug it into to the stock axial ESC/rx combo. Any recommendations are appreciated.

I was considering this ESC from hobbywing. I'd prefer a more inexpensive option though.

Or this overpriced pack of adapters to use with the stock setup. The second to left adapter looks to be correct.

I would also say different servo for the cheap option unfortunately. The esc’s that come to mind are $50 and up but they are good. You may find that adapter plug on Amazon?
I was thinking of a servo swap too. The ESC's are pricey. Potentially Amazon for an adapter, I just need to confirm the jst is 1.5mm or 2mm.

A micro servo actually costs the same as the pack of adapters, go figure.
Exactly :). Cheaper than an ESC though 😊

Maybe I can swap with this micro servo from Amain

Always got a jump through hoops with my projects 😄
For real, well you are doing something unique. It seems anything scx24/fms related is always just that.
For the price, I was looking at one of these. The eco is in the same price range. It all comes down to shipping now.

Sorry I'm late to this. Been dealing with some school stuff with my kid.

For the cable, either cut that connector off and buy a JR connector (black one that plugs into Rx) and crimp the tiny connectors on the wires to instsll the JR housing, or just cut the wires and cut the JR connector end off of a servo extension and splice it in there. Either option is pretty easy to do.

This will come in handy if you modify things often.

Finding a replacement servo that fits, and has the right horn, etc, might just be a real challenge. And there isn't much load on that to need an upgrsde. Just make sure to set the endpoint adjustments on it.

I need one of those kits.
Thats a good idea, cut the connector off and splice a new one on. I have had to solder something like that in the past.
I have a slew of servo extension cables I keep on hand for hacking up 😁

Thanks Wicked! Think I'd be good to just cut and solder the wires together to the new JR? I'd otherwise definitely need that crimp kit and crimping sounds kind of tedious (though I'm sure it's not too bad). When I get home from work, I'll have to check if I have a spare JR, I'll just grab that extension kit; not like I'll be soldering tonight anyways

Yeah, splice, solder, and heat shrink and you're good. Does the servo come apart? If it does, you can just solder the new cable to the board. But again, that could be tedious.

Sweet, that's an easy task. I'll see if the servo can come apart, would be clean for solder to the board. I'll have that pack of JR extensions tomorrow 👍🏻

I really need to make a list of me RC To Do's...😳

I write so many of those down, I forget where I wrote them down at though. So lame.
