12T vs 15T which is better?

Went to hobby shop to buy 15T motor, guy said take this 12T it will work. Whuh? Will it? Do I lose power? Lose torque? Help! Please.
 
Unless a titan 12t. Then its a crap shoot. 🫡😁
There's more truth to that than my story. :D :D :D

What rig are you running @Greg W ? If it's a basher then I highly recommend a brushless system.

That 12t is probably a 550 can, the power will be similar to a 15t but you'll have more torque to work with, and you'll need it for a 1/10 SCT.
 
12t will have more rpm and full Throttle and less torque. regearing will be needed. what motors are you talking about ? size as in 540.550
 
The Titan 12T is a slightly larger 550 motor which will offer more torque and more top speed compared to traditional 15T 540 cans.

If you want to maximize the power, then I recommend using comm drops to break in the motor and apply before every run to get peak performance. I used to race the Spec Slash class and this was a dramatic improvement of performance compared to folks who did no use comm drops:
